Interview with Sam Hughes of The Sammus Theory

April 28, 2013

These past couple of days I have found myself listening to the new album by The Sammus Theory, “Entitled Anonymous”. On April 23rd, they released their third album and it is by no surprise outstanding.  This album really delivers strong hooks, heavy power and is filled with their passion to rock. The Sammus Theory is Sam Hughes on Vocals, Kyle Welnel on rhythm guitar, Jeremy Tabor on lead guitar, Brent Gilliland on bass and Marshall Harrod on drums. Together they create the powerhouse rock that will have you engaged from the first song to the last. I will get you a full review of this CD soon but for now  I wanted to share an interview we recently had with Sam Hughes. You can check it out here:   Head over to their website where you can get your own copy of “Entitled Anonymous”. You can get your digital copy, physical copy or my preferred: BOTH!  Tell me which are some of your favorite songs. So far, I really love, “Scarlet Letter Devil”, “Entitled Anonymous” and [Read More]

Hard Rockers “Heaven Below” continue their rise

April 28, 2013

All my friends here in California already know about this great hard working rock band, Heaven Below but now it is time for EVERYONE to know about them. My son Ryan had met their lead singer and guitarist, Patrick Kennison at NAMM 2012 and we  had their music blasting on our 7 hour drive home.  They have such an intense energy throughout their songs as they deliver “in your face rock” which we all need more of now and days. Heaven Below rose from Los Angeles and has not stopped since. We had the chance to see them earlier this year at House of Blues Anaheim during NAMM 2013 and the place was packed. They always bring such a great crowd and if you ever see them coming to a town near you; Fly, Drive, Walk or Crawl to get to that show. You will be infused with high octane levels of rock and roll and will now be part of the Heaven Below family.   You can get to know more about Heaven Below [Read More]

Justin Furstenfeld opens his heart on his Open Book Tour

April 8, 2013

A few months ago I told you about how one of my favorite singers announcing his solo tour to highlight the release of the third edition of his book! Yes, Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October. You can read that post here. Well, I can’t wait to tell you how everything went. First, remember when I told you I took my son Rockin Ryan to see Blue October in November 2012 and how Justin loved Ryan’s jacket and Ryan was going to make one?? Read that post here.  Well, Ryan spent the past two months making one for Justin and couldn’t wait to give it to him at the show last Friday at The Observatory in Santa Ana. We set out for the 7 hour drive right after dropping Brandon off to school, perfectly scheduled to arrive at 3:45 in plenty of time for the Meet and Greet and Soundcheck. Well, we didn’t calculate the 10 miles per hour traffic from LA to Santa Ana. 9 hours later! We arrived late at 5:25 and missed most of the [Read More]

Get ready for a shot of hard rock with Snakeskyn Whiskey!

March 27, 2013

Do you remember the first time you were at a concert and you were blown away by the opening band? Like seriously just excited to find out more about them and to get hooked on their music? Well that is what it was like for many fans who went out to see CrashDiet at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco this past Monday (March 25, 2013).  Out on tour with CrashDiet and opening up for them that night were the hard rockers from Montreal, Canada, Snakeskyn Whiskey. These four guys deliver in your face aggressive rock and roll with non stop energy.  If you have ever been to the top of the DNA Lounge, you will know what I am talking about when I tell you how they dominated that small stage with their big sound. We had the chance to sit down with  Snakeskyn Whiskey before the show and they told us about how diverse the music scene is in Montreal and how the different genres of music compete for the shows at the music venues. Revolver Golden Gods Awards 2013 Viewing Party Guide

March 13, 2013

Party Planning Guide for Revolver Golden Gods Awards 2013! As you know from my recent post about the Oscars, we don’t throw parties to watch the award shows unless it is the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Well, with the awards being only 6+ weeks ago, we have to get started in planning your perfect Revolver Golden Gods Awards Viewing Party!  The date for the show is May 2, 2013. 4 to 5 Weeks before your party Make an Invitation List. Here is where you have to really tailor your list to the right audience. When you are drawing up your list of names; ask yourself some questions about the guests so you know you are targeting the right guests. The last thing you want at your party is someone asking over and over is Kanye going to sing?,  or Who is Metallica? or even worse, what is this Revolver thing – thought it was a gun??? Time to show them the door and you may want to rethink them as your friend at that point!! [Read More]
