The Last Internationale kick off West Coast tour with a fierce set in San Francisco

May 19, 2016

Earlier this week, The Last Internationale have just kicked off their West Coast Tour and they blew the roof off the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. The night started off with a great set by Citabria out of San Jose. We were glad to get there early and check out these guys as they unleashed a dose of fresh alternative rock. Next up was Dig The Kid as they return to the Bay Area for the first time in over a year. They played fan favorites as well as several new songs including an acoustic version of Still Breathing. The Last Internationale hit the stage and the energy went through the roof. These three deliver a whopping punch of adrenaline when they perform and it is easily reciprocated as it quickly travels through the crowd. With their signature blend of unapologetic punk-folk-blues you are captivated not only by their music, but by the passion that fuels them. You can’t help but “feel” when they perform. It is amazing and it something that I highly recommend you [Read More]

Concert Review & Video Interview: Fearless Vampire Killers in Munich at Backstage Club

May 16, 2016

Munich, Backstage Club, May 10, 2016   It’s been only about three months since FVK (aka Fearless Vampire Killers) last played in Europe. They’ve been out on tour with Escape The Fate then. But finally now, after four times playing as an opening band, they were out on their first European headline tour, which also led them to Munich. First headline tours always carry a risk, because it’s hard to say how many people will really come to the shows, so I was curious who would show up. As one could expect the majority of the audience were young females, but there were also a few guys rocking out. It was pretty quiet, when I got to the Backstage. Usually there’s lots of people hanging around, waiting for the clubs to open. That night it was only one out of three differently sized venues that was busy and that was where I was heading. We had an interview scheduled with the band before show time, so we waited outside until the band was ready for [Read More]

James Bay delivers a grand performance to a sold out Oakland crowd at the Fox Theater

April 25, 2016

We were very excited to catch the most recent performance of James Bay at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. The fans began lining up early afternoon as it was a sold out show, and it would be a packed house. The night kicked off with an impressive performance by Joseph. Joseph features three sisters from the Pacific Northwest, who delighted the crowd with their powerful vocals and melodic harmonies. The trio captivated the crowd and earned high praises from the audience. The crowd grew in anxiety as they awaited the arrival of James Bay. It was wonderful to see the diversity in the crowd. It was a mix of culture, age, gender and social backgrounds that came together to enjoy the music of James Bay. People came from all over for this show. We even met a young woman who flew all the way out from Indiana for the show. Marisol Baumann (yes, I was just as shocked that she was also named Marisol) said she had just flown in hours earlier in [Read More]

Lullwater brings their high energy set to Slim’s in San Francisco

April 18, 2016

We were so excited to see that Lullwater was hitting the road with Candlebox out on their Disappearing in Airports Tour. They made a stop this past weekend at Slim’s in San Francisco and we weren’t going to miss it! We caught Lullwater last year when they rolled through Sacramento at the Ace of Spades for the Massive Collision Tour with Amaranthe and Butcher Babies. It was quite a night of high energy music that kept us fueled for the week! Well, Lullwater did it again. They kicked ass as they brought their high energy rock set to Slim’s! They really bring an energy to the stage that infects the crowd and has them begging for more. They spoiled us with songs off their recently released album, Revival which was recorded on analog and is a raw natural beauty. If there were any people in the audience who entered the venue that night not knowing Lullwater, they soon left as new fans. Everybody was in awe of their set and the adrenaline was racing around the [Read More]

Candlebox returns to San Francisco for stellar set at Slim’s

April 18, 2016

The multi-platinum rockers Candlebox have returned to San Francisco for a stop on their Disappearing In Airports tour. They played at Slim’s on Saturday night and it was a packed house!  They are touring in support of their highly anticipated album, Disappearing in Airports, which is set for an April 22nd release. The night kicked off with a great set by Peter RG as he got the crowd ready to rock and you will see a couple Candlebox members in Peter RG. Next up was the insanely energetic Lullwater. We caught them last year out on tour with Butcher Babies and Amaranthe and it was great to see them raise the roof off Slim’s. The crowd was filled to what must have been capacity as there was no room to move about as Candlebox hit the stage. Everyone wanted to be up front for their incredible set. They were amazing and their sound was timeless as many longtime fans found themselves back in the ’90s singing all of their favorites.  What was quite impressive [Read More]
