Concert Review & Video Interview: Fearless Vampire Killers in Munich at Backstage Club

May 16, 2016

Munich, Backstage Club, May 10, 2016   It’s been only about three months since FVK (aka Fearless Vampire Killers) last played in Europe. They’ve been out on tour with Escape The Fate then. But finally now, after four times playing as an opening band, they were out on their first European headline tour, which also led them to Munich. First headline tours always carry a risk, because it’s hard to say how many people will really come to the shows, so I was curious who would show up. As one could expect the majority of the audience were young females, but there were also a few guys rocking out. It was pretty quiet, when I got to the Backstage. Usually there’s lots of people hanging around, waiting for the clubs to open. That night it was only one out of three differently sized venues that was busy and that was where I was heading. We had an interview scheduled with the band before show time, so we waited outside until the band was ready for [Read More]

Kevin Martin of Candlebox talks about their new album Disappearing In Airports

May 12, 2016

The multi-platinum rockers Candlebox have been touring in support of their recently released album, Disappearing In Airports.  We were able to catch them when they made a stop in San Francisco at Slim’s. It was a packed house and the crowd was filled with long time fans as well as a slew of new ones.  They were amazing and their sound was timeless as many longtime fans found themselves back in the ’90s singing all of their favorites.  What was quite impressive was the warm reception that their new songs received. Many fans already knew all of the words of the new songs, and were rocking out.  Their album has been well received and it completely rocks. We had the chance to chat with Kevin Martin about the new album and the music scene today. We are pleased to bring that interview to you here: * * * * * * *  Music Junkie Press: Thank you for taking the time to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press. We have been very excited [Read More]

Interview with The Dramedy as they gear up for their new release of What Time Is Life?

May 12, 2016

The Dramedy out of Los Angeles truly caught our attention last year. David and Abby blew us away with their music and they are ready to do it again. They recently announced that they will be releasing their new song, What Time Is Life? on a cassette through Wiener Records.  We took a listen to the song and are quite impressed with the musicianship that The Dramedy have brought to the table with the track.  It is quite a different style than what you might be familiar with of their music, but once you take a listen, you will love it.  It has a haunting mysterious vibe that grabs your attention and shows the softer side of the band with lyrics that have you pondering life and reminding you to grasp it and make it your own. It challenges you to not just sit around, it encourages you to take life by the reigns and control your destiny. David’s vocals on it are powerful and yet comforting. We had a chance to chat with David [Read More]
