The Color Morale / Scream Your Name / Ash Is A Robot

Munich, Feierwerk Kranhalle, May 31, 2015

 

This was the weekend where ‘Rockavaria’ took place in Munich. A big 3 day Rock Music festival with bands like Muse, Kiss, FFDP, Hatebreed, Metallica and many others on the set-list. We didn’t have something like that in the city for well over 10 years. It was the final night with Metallica headlining, so that was quite a competition for any other live show that night.

 

Nevertheless I picked that show to go to because I love club shows far more than festivals and as the night progressed my choice was proven right.

It wasn’t the first time for TCM to play in Munich. According to Garret, the vocalist of the band, the first time they played here it was about a third of the people that were there yesterday, so it was an increase. I’m pretty sure without Rockavaria in town there would’ve been more people. Ticket sales for the festival started months ago though and this show was announced at a time, where many already had their 3 day tickets.

 

So whatever, all three bands gave their all. ‘Ash Is A Robot’ from Portugal and ‘Scream Your Name’ from Switzerland opened for the band. On a side-note, TCM play with different bands while being on tour throughout Europe. The first few dates they supported Beartooth in the UK, followed by their own headliner tour from May 27^th to June 6^th in Mainland Europe.

The Color Morale played an 8 song set with an additional 9^th song as an encore, which they left for the audience to pick. So they chose ‘Demon teeth’ from TCM’s 2^nd album ‘My Devil In Your Eyes’. It was a real ‘cardio’ set with lots of calories burned on stage for sure. I deeply admire every band that pours their heart and soul into each show regardless of the number of people that are in the audience. All three bands did that, so what more can you want when you go to a live show. Check out photos from Alexandra of The Color Morale:
