Lime Garden makes their San Francisco debut at Bottom of the Hill

The Bottom of the Hill has long been known as a venue that showcases great emerging bands, and last night was no exception. Lime Garden from the UK delivered a set that has undoubtedly set the bar high for many bands to follow.

The night kicked off with Sucker Crush, an Oakland-based femme-core dream pop band and the songwriting project of Marissa Deitz. Their set was mesmerizing, made even more special by the addition of a cellist, which added a rich, unexpected layer to their sound. The crowd was hooked from the first note and loved every second of it.

Next up was Everyone is Dirty, an Oakland band that completely tore the roof off the place. They seamlessly blend pop art rock, psychedelic elements, and early punk influences, creating a sound that’s as eclectic as it is electric. There was a moment where I felt as if I had been transported back to an underground nightclub in late ’70s New York, as new music took over the scene. The vibe was raw and intoxicating. The highlight of their set was lead vocalist Sivan LionCub, who not only captivated the audience with their magnetic personality but also delivered a fierce electric violin performance that brought an entirely new dimension to their music. The band’s energy was palpable, and the crowd matched their adrenaline with every song.

The anticipation was high as Lime Garden took the stage. This was their first time performing in San Francisco, and based on the reception, it’s clear it won’t be their last. The band shared their excitement about exploring the city, mentioning highlights like seeing the Golden Gate Bridge and, of course, the seals! They opened their set with “Bitter,” instantly captivating the crowd with their infectious charisma and magnetic stage presence. Their music, a blend of indie rock with groovy, playful rhythms, kept the audience engaged throughout. Each song seemed to fly by, leaving us completely immersed in the world of Lime Garden. Their debut San Francisco performance will be remembered, and it’s safe to say many of us are eagerly awaiting their return.
