We are pleased to report that the fountain of youth is no myth as it was discovered at the Concord Pavilion last night. The United We Rock Tour featuring Styx, REO Speedwagon and Don Felder delivered a night of music that left the crowd and musicians rejuvenated and energized, reclaiming the spirit of their youth. Each band sounded incredible and it was obvious they all have been held in a time capsule. They rocked the stage with intense energy and fervor, delivering nonstop rock n roll from start to finish. It was amazing to see these legendary musicians perform with endless stamina and passion, exceeding many musicians half their age. They literally gave 150% on that stage.
You could tell by the ear to ear smiles on the musicians that they are all exactly where they should be; performing on stage! As soon as the music played, the crowds were all treated to the flowing fountain of youth as many danced and rocked out to all their favorite songs, reliving memories of their youth and creating new memories that will be cherished. The audience age range was from seasoned rockers down to young kids rocking out. There is the magic of great rock n roll like the music of the Eagles, REO Speedwagon and Styx, that it is timeless and can be enjoyed by the long time fans as well as the newcomers.
The night kicked off with a stunning set by Don Felder and his impressive band. The crowd sang along to their favorite Eagles songs and the highlight was the performance of Hotel California. To watch one of the best guitar solos in rock history being performed live, was truly surreal. Check out photos of their set here:

Next up was the spectacular set by REO Speedwagon. The band delivered a precision set that had each song sounding extraordinary. I have to mention that the music of REO Speedwagon is truly emotionally driven and has so many amazing songs with lyrics that speak to the listener. So many of the songs were the soundtrack of our lives including our young love, breakups, our Go To songs to keep us rolling on. So it was no surprise when you looked out over the audience and found emotions running high with couples embracing, tears flowing, ear to ear smiles, as many remember the first time they heard those songs or what an impact they might have had on them. The set was quite moving and inspiring. Kevin had some encouraging words on how we should all become more tolerant of each other, giving hope to our future.

The night was headlined with a smokin set from Styx. Purely magical as they had an impressive stage set up that spotlighted their entrance to the stage. The crowd erupted with cheers and screams as they began to perform. They live sound rivals studio as they were powerful and breathtaking. Styx has such an enormous catalog and all the songs were well received and sung along word for word. Styx have just released their 16th Studio album, THE MISSION and it ROCKS! The album is the first studio album in 14 years and is released on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. It is an album that will have longtime STYX fans in awe and is garnering high praise from new fans. It’s bridging the generation gap by delivering an engaging, full bodied rock/progressive rock album that will please fans of all ages. Their set last night proves they will continue to have a long future ahead with their music.
