Saturday night, alternative rockers Puddle of Mudd made a stop in Santa Rosa for their show at Rock Star University House of Rock in Santa Rosa. It was our first time at this impressive venue that features a jaw dropping memorabilia collection, spectacular state of the art sound and stage system, full lighting and effects, comfortable seating to include sofa lounges, bar benches, bistro bar tables or if you prefer, general admission standing right in front of the stage. The stage features a catwalk that insures everyone in the venue is getting the best view at all. Stay tuned for our upcoming feature on this amazing venue and how it brings a first class concert experience to everyone that walks through the doors.
The night kicked off with a rousing high energy set by V² (pronounced V squared), which features the young 13 year old twins Vittorio and Vincenzo. You can read our full feature of their set by heading over here: V² delivers flawless set.
The energy continued on as Puddle of Mudd took the stage. It has been quite a while since I last saw Puddle of Mudd perform, I believe it was back in 2009 at Slim’s in San Francisco. A lot has happened over those past several years for the band, but they continue to keep the wheels of rock turning. The night included the entertaining antics of Wes as they cranked out fan favorites like, Spaceship, Psycho, She Hates Me. It was great to hear them perform their new song, I Fucked it Up Again which is like an amped up rock n roll version of the Britney Spears classic, Oops I Did It Again. It highlights Wes’ infectious vocals as he confesses to messing up once again.
It was a wild night and a crazy set but with Puddle of Mudd, we wouldn’t expect anything less as they rocked the venue in pure Puddle of Mudd fashion. Reminds me of a quote by the character Jeff Bebe in the movie, Almost Famous:
” Some people have a hard time explaining rock ‘n’ roll. I don’t think anyone can really explain rock ‘n’ roll. … Rock ‘n’ roll is a lifestyle and a way of thinking… and it’s not about money and popularity. Although, some money would be nice. But it’s a voice that says, “Here I am… and fuck you if you can’t understand me.” And one of these people is gonna save the world. And that means that rock ‘n’ roll can save the world…”
So no need to understand the madness, just sit back and enjoy the rock and roll ride. Check out more photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan:
