Today I wanted to bring a very special artist interview to you. This week we are featuring the amazing talented rock vocalist, Joshua Adams from Las Vegas. Joshua brings his powerful vocals to life and it flows with such emotion which reminds me of my other favorite singer, Myles Kennedy. You really have to take a listen and I am sure you will fall in love with his voice! Here is his video for his absolutely wonderful and uplifting song, “Everything Will Be Alright”. This song simply feeds my heart and soul, and you can’t help but feel serenity.
UPDATE: Joshua has a Kickstarter Campaign for his upcoming Acoustic Tour!! Details here. We made our pledge so make sure to check it out and get Joshua to play in YOUR Town!!

Music Junkie Press: First, I have to tell you that the first time I heard your voice, I seriously got chills. You have such an amazing vocal style that just emits emotion and is soul touching. The first song I heard was, “Everything Will Be Alright”. Can you share a bit of how that song came about?
Joshua: Thanks so much for the compliments. It’s always nice to hear about a positive reaction to my music and vocals. “Everything Will Be Alright” is definitely one of my new favorites. The inspiration comes from seeing people around me deal with some very difficult times and not really having anything to say that would help. At times like that, the only thing you can say is “everything will be alright”. The sound contains some of my favorite lyrics I’ve ever written 🙂

Music Junkie Press: Second, we are so excited to see you in the VeeWall Vocals Performance Contest competing for $100,000. We understand you are also working to donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We are voting everyday and hope you win. Can you tell us how you chose to donate to this charity, is there a personal story behind it?
Joshua: Thank you for the support and voting! I don’t normally enter contests like this, however I saw it as a wonderful opportunity to raise some money for a few good causes, one of those being breast cancer research. I’m lucky to have never been directly affected by the disease, however the inspiration to donate to the cause comes directly from fans who have dealt with it. Over the years, I’ve seen some amazing fans and friends have to deal with the horrible disease and always wanted to help the cause.

Music Junkie Press: How old were you when you first starting getting into music and what was your first concert?
Joshua: I was around 12 or 13 when I began learning to play the guitar. Soon after that I was writing and then not long after, singing. My first “real” concert was probably around 17 or 18 years old at a high school event in a National Guard Armory.

Music Junkie Press: Do you have a specific writing ritual?
Joshua: Not really… Sometimes I’ll sit down and force myself to write, but the best stuff always comes out when least expected. Usually I’ll be in the car or on the computer and a new idea or melody comes to me.

Music Junkie Press: What are you working on currently and what can we expect from you in 2013?
Joshua: I’m currently in the final stages of a new album, which should be released this May. This year should contain music releases, video releases, tour dates, and meeting many awesome new fans.

Music Junkie Press: Where can we currently get your music?
Joshua: All of my previous releases can be found on iTunes by search Joshua Adams. I believe they are also on Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, and a few other online retailers.

Music Junkie Press: If we could peak into your Playlist or Ipod who would be the next three artists/songs on shuffla? Anyone that might surprise us?
Joshua: Hmm…you’d probably hear Alter Bridge’s “Watch Over You”, Jeff Buckley’s version of “Hallelujah”, and maybe a Shinedown song. The surprise to many may be that I don’t really have many songs in my phone/ipod at the moment.

Music Junkie Press: If you could remake any song from any genre, what would it be?
Joshua: Good question. I’ve always been a big fan of Michael Jackson and would love to remake one of his many hits. I’m dragging my feet with it though because I want to make sure it’s the right song for me and to do the song justice.

Music Junkie Press: When is your album going to be released and is there a title as of yet?
Joshua: It looks like late May and as of now it’s just self titled “Joshua Adams”. I might pick a track to be the title track. Thank you so much for the interview and support!
