GLAARE is a three-piece post-punk band from Los Angeles and is touring in support of their new album To Deaf And Day. Glaare is the brainchild of Rachael Pierce, Cameron Carlin and Brandon Pierce. Brandon, a former and founding member of LA heavy prog dreamers Ancestors, has also done time in Buried at Sea, Deth Crux, Night Horse and Portland’s Soft Kill, with whom he recently completed a U.S. tour with The Chameleons. Cherry picking the best elements of darkwave, dream pop and goth-rock, Glaare have been a burgeoning force in the LA scene since their formation in 2012. Glaare’s singular approach has made them stand out in the LA post-punk / darkwave scene that birthed them.

Black Mare is touring in support Death Magick Mother which will be released on vinyl on April 20. Amidst a backdrop of political strife wherein such fundamental principles as the health, safety, and common decency toward women continue to erode more with each executive order and Twitter fit, the spirit of Black Mare is the unique outlook and limitless purview of its driving force, Sera Timms. The project began in 2013 with the stunning debut album Field of the Host. Subsequent output included a split LP with Syndrome and split 7″ with Lycia and is followed up by Black Mare’s second full-length, Death Magick Mother. Seven songs in length, Death Magick Mother captures Timms amidst a dynamic cohesion and confluence of inspiration unlike any prior releases. Whereas previous output operated under a founding principle of rhythmic repetition and atmospheric simplicity toward trace-like escapism, Death Magick Mother is Black Mare stepping right in front of the lens for a closeup.

We are glad to a San Francisco date and hope to bring you coverage of their show.  Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news.
