Wondering how to get through the week? With some nasty rock n roll from Swanky Tiger! Rockers Swanky Tiger have just released their new video for their infectious track, Wake Up. Vocalist/Guitarist Oliver explains about the making of the new video:
The making of the video was interesting, as we wanted to make sure we weren’t in it – that the story is left to stand on its own. The footage was shot by Virgile Jardin in Paris, starring Adélaide de Cerjat and Frédérique Rivest. I had met Virgile in France through his brother, the singer Hugo Jardin, who used to be in a band with us in high school, and was impressed by his video on Hugo’s project. When it came time to make a video for “Wake Up,” we thought Virgile would be able to conjure the right mood, so we had a few phone meetings, us in NYC and him in Paris, and we would basically go back and forth with the edits until we got it right.
Check out the video here:
It is a kick ass video and has us wanting more. The band has been writing a lot lately and have told us about what lies ahead,
At the moment, we have just wrapped up our fall shows and are booking a short tour of the Northeast for March, although nothing is really set in stone yet. Although we’re still promoting Mechanical Nightmares, we have been writing a lot since we got back from our U.S. tour last year, and have really been inspired by the music we heard down South. We’re in rehearsals for the sessions now, which we’ll record live on the studio floor in an attempt to capture the energy of the show on record – something we’re really looking forward to.
One thing is certain these guys know how to rock and their live performances are a true testament to that fact. They delliver 150% out on stage. When asked about their live shows and what to expect,
We love playing live, so we really try and let that show onstage – lots of jumping around, extended solos, running around, perhaps even a fun cover or two, if the mood is right. Live shows are supposed to be a fun night out first and foremost, and so we really try to cater to the crowd, often switching up our setlist in accordance to the vibe of the room. That said, be on the lookout for more East Coast dates this winter!
We will be waiting! Right now, time to crank up the speakers and watch their new video again.
