Stars in Stereo

If you are one to say Rock is Dead, then maybe you aren’t listening to the right bands!!  As Stars in Stereo states: “This is Rock. Alive and well. Kicking and screaming. Meeting the moment. This is Stars in Stereo

Straight from Los Angeles, California they are delivering in your face rock and roll with phenomenal performances that will have you wanting more.  Stars in Stereo is Bec Hollcraft on the amazing Vocals, Jordan McGraw raging on the Guitar, Frogs  McCormick spicing it up on the Bass,  and Drew Langan killing it on  Drums.  Together they are delivering true rock and roll ear porn! They literally just finished up one tour as they set out on another. We are going to try and catch them on tour with Bullet For My Valentine and Black Veil Brides at the end of September. Check out their latest video for one of my favorite songs, ” Every Last Thing” which is from their debut album now available on Itunes.

For now, get to know the band with our recent interview:

Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press.  We are loving the new music! You have revived our hope in rock and roll.  How did Stars in Stereo form?

Stars in Stereo: A few of us had played together before, but wanted to start something completely new, with a totally different direction. We were lucky enough to find Bec, who shared the same vision and brought an amazing talent that we knew we had to have. Once we met her, we hit the ground running and were in the studio recording within the week.

Music Junkie Press: How old were each of you when you first started playing?

Stars in Stereo: We all started very young. Bec has been singing her whole life, and the rest of us picked up our instruments around 10-15 years old.

Music Junkie Press: Can you remember what was your first concert?

Stars in Stereo: We all had very different first concert experiences. Bec may have had the worst though. She saw Backstreet Boys when she was 8 years old.

Music Junkie Press: You have created something that many musicians are missing, a complete album where from start to finish we are compelled to listening. These days many artists focus on getting out a couple hits and then provide filler songs. I congratulate you on doing it old school and giving us hit after hit.  Of all songs, which one is your personal favorite?

Stars in Stereo: Thank you! We put everything we have into this record, so it’s good to know that our passion comes across. We have a connection to every song, but Every Last Thing stands out a bit, as it is one of the first songs we ever wrote together, and it survived the long process of picking the best songs for the album, and finally, the song we want to represent us as our first single.

Music Junkie Press: Your live shows as we have watched deliver 150% of all intense energy! Do you have a particular warm up or pre-show ritual?

Stars in Stereo: We have a few things we do before every show to get us focused and prepared, but we’re not telling you exactly what they are!

Music Junkie Press: Your video for Every Last Thing delivers a whole story, something that is reminiscent of MTV days. We applaud you for giving us a great storyline video that we can watch over and over! If you had to pick a music video that has stuck in your mind, what would it be?

Stars in Stereo: We really like the way 30 Seconds To Mars approaches their videos, namely, “The Kill”. They do a great job of creating suspense and drama to go along with the song  which is something we also aim for.

Music Junkie Press: Out on tour, what are three things you can’t live without?

Stars in Stereo: Whiskey, air fresheners, and cornhole.

Music Junkie Press: With Queen of Catastrophe you truly bring out an emotionally driven song, is there a story behind that song?

Stars in Stereo: The song is about having an epiphany in your life; a moment in time when who you were in your past and who you want to be become clear.  It’s about wanting to be a better person and not letting anyone in your life hold you back any longer.

Music Junkie Press: We love your cover of Aerosmith’s Dream On, job well done! I am going to have to include it in our next list of Top Covers!  If you could take any song from a different genre (pop,50s,  country, etc) and give it your own style, what would it be?

Stars in Stereo: We love the challenge of taking a song and making it our own. The genre is not necessarily as important as how much we each like the song.

Music Junkie Press: If Stars in Stereo could create their dream lineup, what three bands (living or dead) would you  put on the bill with you?

Stars in Stereo: It’s tough to narrow it down to three bands, but it would be amazing to tour with 30 Seconds To Mars, Foo Fighters, and Daft Punk.

Music Junkie Press: If I could peak into your Ipod, what artist or song might we be most surprised at finding in there?

Stars in Stereo: It really depends on whose iPod you got ahold of. Bec has a pretty impressive collection of really bad dance remixes and Drew has a pretty embarrassing collection of bad pop songs.

Music Junkie Press: We will be catching you out on tour with Bullet for My Valentine in September  in Los Angeles. Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with our audience?

Stars in Stereo: Yes, take a look at our website www.starsinstereo.com for upcoming tour dates. We have some pretty awesome tours lined up for the rest of the year and we want to see a lot of SinnerS out there. We always hang out at the merch table after our set, so don’t be shy to walk up and say hello. Also, follow all of our social networks.
