I love how the simple act of listening to music can bring out a range of emotions or even bring a particular memory to surface. I love when a musician can connect so well to the listener that their words and visions intertwine with the each other. Tonight, I experienced just that when I listened to the new EP Stability by Ashley Xtina.
Four amazingly well written songs that are not only emotionally driven but complete capture the listener and transports them to another place. The vocal range and execution by Ashley is gratifying. Her voice can transition from powerful to vulnerable, from mysterious to sultry and so much more.
The first track So Sorry has a soothing almost ethereal intro and then you are greeted with the crisp and heartfelt lyrics of Ashley. It’s honest and raw lyrics can provide a source of comfort for so many as they can connect to the song.
The piano intro on Angel creates the perfect dramatic backdrop for Ashley‘s passionate vocals. Once again tender lyrics are sung and Ashley‘s vocals range from sweet surrender to a edgy conviction. It might be my favorite song on the EP but that would be hard to state since I find myself replaying all four of them! Check out Angel here:
Let Me Go has a very soulful vibe to it and is a beautiful style blended with bold and sultry tones. The last song Things is another highlight for Ashley’s vocals and she has a very sultry seductive tone. I love this song too and has layers and depths of mystery.
The EP will be available on iTunes on July 2nd and is definitely one to check out. The sizzling vocals of Ashley will hold you captive from start to finish. Ashley will be performing at her EP Release Show on July 2nd at Spike Hill in Brooklyn, New York.
Make sure to pick up her new EP on July 2nd and visit her social media sites.
