Dirty Honey made their way back to Sacramento and put on one hell of a show at the Ace of Spades, October 30th, 2024.
Opening the night was The Band Feel, an incredible newer band that delivered unapologetic, high-energy rock and roll. Their sound captures the spirit of early ‘70s Zeppelin, yet it’s wrapped in a modern, unmistakably original style. Hailing from St. Louis, they quickly won over the crowd and built a dedicated new fan base.
With members Tyler Armstrong – guitarist, Garrett Barcus – vocals, Rodger Lenhart – bass, and TJ Steinwart- drums, the band brought fierce energy and undeniable chemistry to the stage. Each musician contributed a unique presence, blending classic rock vibes with a fresh, edgy sound that left a lasting impression.
When Dirty Honey took the stage, the crowd erupted, knowing they were in for a night of relentless, kick-ass rock and roll. Every time we have seen them, they blow us away, and just when we think they’ve hit the peak of their game, they surprise us by reaching even greater heights. This band keeps surprising us and getting better, proving they’re truly always at the top of their game.
Dirty Honey’s lineup is unmatched: singer extraordinaire Marc LaBelle, guitar god John Notto, killer bassist Justin Smolian, and powerhouse drummer Jaydon Bean. Their cohesiveness as a band creates an incredibly tight sound, the kind that makes you feel like you’re witnessing legends in the making. Each member has such magnetic stage presence that you can’t help but bounce from one to the other, taking in their individual talents.
A few standout moments included when they played Van Halen’s “Runnin’ with the Devil,” the crowd went wild from the first few notes, taking the energy to a whole new level. Their setlist was the perfect blend of old and new songs. When they performed their acoustic Coming Home, it was nothing short of spectacular – almost spine-chilling. The powerful sound of the song filled the room, and you could feel the raw passion in every note. The performance captured the essence of their music, a perfect blend of soul and rock that resonated deeply with the audience. The final song of the night was Rolling 7s and it was FAN-FUCKIN-TASTIC! The band gave 150% and included each member’s solo performance. John Notto was jaw-dropping on guitar, earning his title as a true guitar god, while Marc’s powerful, controlled vocals left us in awe, hitting every note perfectly. Justin brought an effortless, groove-laden style to his bass lines, while Jaydon’s drumming held everything together with a relentless energy.
Every moment of their set had us captivated, and honestly, I’m already planning when I can catch them next. There are only a handful dates remaining so make sure to visit the social media sites so you can stay up to date on the latest news.
