L.S. Dunes which features guitarist Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), guitarist Travis Stever (Coheed & Cambria), vocalist Anthony Green (Circa Survive), bassist Tim Payne (Thursday), and drummer Tucker Rule (Thursday) have recently released a live video for their explosive new track, Bombsquad. The song is off their upcoming debut album, PAST LIVES, due November 11th, 2022 via Fantasy Records. Check out the video below:
The performance clip “Bombsquad – Live at Dreamland” was recorded at Dreamland Studios in Woodstock, NY, where some of the band’s favorite ever records (from Sunny Day Real Estate to The National to The Hold Steady) were created. L.S. Dunes channeled the power of the former church’s iconostasis into spiritual consciousness via the song’s “Leora” refrain in the chorus.
Anthony Green explains about the new track,
“The lyrics for “Bombsquad” came from a poem that I wrote around the time of the January 6th insurrection. In the midst of the pandemic, people were trying to take down the government because a ConMan politician couldn’t admit that he had lost the election, not for any legitimate grievance or protest. The song is a rage against society’s depressing and destructive forces. “Leora” is an age-old word meaning ‘of the light’ or ‘compassion’, which I think is something we need to call and reflect on for growth and unity.”
L.S. Dunes recently announced their first ever UK tour in January 2023. The tour will see the band take in four major cities around the UK with special guests to be announced.

More about L.S.Dunes
L.S. DUNES super-charge their heavy anthems with punk energy into a sound unlike anything that has come before it. From the gripping, theatrical opener “2022,” and the crunchy, frenetic earworm “Like Forever,” to the pummeling, expansive “Permanent Rebellion,” and the disarming album closer, “Sleep Cult,” Past Lives is an electrifying and emotional ride.
Past Lives was produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Circa Survive, Quicksand) and recorded at his Studio 4 Recording in Philadelphia, PA. Going deep on issues of fearlessness, dependency, nonconformity, and impermanence, writing for the album was a collaborative effort.
After the shock of the pandemic shutdown, the close friends and mutual admirers urgently realised that “tomorrow” is not promised. “We never knew if we would ever get to play these songs together; in fact none of us lifelong musicians really knew if we’d ever be able to play music for a live audience ever again,” Iero recounts. “‘Permanent Rebellion’ is about taking back what is rightfully yours.”
Rule adds, “We wanted to do something where you can hear all our bands in it and yet, not have it sound like any one in particular. Our roots are punk rock and hardcore, and the vibe is hope for all the lost souls.”
