Popscene Presents brought an incredible show to the Rickshaw Stop last night, transforming a typical Monday into an unforgettable night of music. Kicking things off was dethcaps—a Bay Area trio dishing out some much-needed ‘bubblegrunge’. Their infectious set had the crowd moving and vibing, with a massive sound that belied their three-piece lineup. If you’re in the Bay Area, be sure to catch their next show at O’Reilly’s Pub on November 16th in San Francisco.
Next up was NEWDAD, making their debut U.S. headlining tour stop. It was a special treat to see them in such an intimate venue, knowing they’re destined for bigger stages soon. Like any tour opener, there were a few technical difficulties, but the band took it in stride, turning the moment into a spontaneous Q&A with the crowd. Their personalities truly shone through, and everyone had a great time.
Highlights of the set included a stellar live performance of “Angel,” one of our favorite tracks, and a deep dive into their older material alongside an exciting unreleased song. NEWDAD is definitely a band to keep on your radar—they’re poised for big things.
