Everyone gets excited for Fridays! I’m always excited when Friday rolls around because so much great new music is released. We wanted to make sure you check out the latest release from Ryan Hamilton and the Harlequin Ghosts. Their new track Mamacita will be invading your playlist as you have it on repeat for the weekend. The song is off their upcoming new album, This Is The Sound which is set for a May 31st release on Steven Van Zandt’s label, Wicked Cool Records.
The track feeds your need for riff-driven guitars, catchy chorus’, gritty addictive vocals, teetering between old style Brit punk and straight up old school rock n roll. The band features American Ryan Hamilton and UK based Harlequin Ghosts. Hamilton co-wrote the new track with Little Steven, who also contributes to the song’s rippin’ guitar solo. He shares more about the song,
I co-wrote this with Stevie Van Zandt, sort of by accident. I had what I thought was a finished song, but Stevie heard it and said, ‘It’s good, but it needs a chorus.’ So, he wrote one and sent it to me. This song will forever be special to me for that very reason.” Mamacita is a word I heard here in Texas growing up. I relate it to beautiful, sexy Mexican women, in the most respectful way. Combine that with memories of a couple of crazy nights just south of the border, and you have the inspiration for this song.”
