Just a couple weeks ago, we told you about Shattered Sun as they set out on the road to California to play at the Whisky a GoGo. We were able to catch that show of theirs at the Whisky a GoGo where they opened up for Skid Row. It was an awesome show! This band is never short on energy. They came out delivering a fresh new style of heavy thrash metal with emotionally driven lyrics that captivate the listener and immediately draw them into the Shattered Sun family. What is awesome to see is a full band complete with two guitarists and keys. It really does complete the sound and takes their music to greater depths and adds many layers to enjoy.
Shattered Sun was the first band to be signed to Breaking Bands Management which is the directed and founded by the powerhouse team of Adrenaline PR CEO Maria Ferrero, former MegaForce Records and Crazed Management owners Jon and Marsha Zazula, and Testament vocalist and co-manager Chuck Billy. Chuck made it out to the show at the Whisky and was in attendance as the crowd went wild for their heavy riffs, gripping vocals and infectious hooks. Marcos is an excellent frontman as he engaged the audience and raised their energy to new levels.

Shattered Sun is set to perform at the River City Rock Fest on May 24th in San Antonio. Check out their new song, Hope Within Hatred which is off their upcoming album:
Mark explains about the song, “When I wrote this song it seemed like my life was in a downward spiral. I was holding on to a lot of negativity and people who were truly bad for my future,” states vocalist Marcos Leal. “For some reason I could never see past this and always held on and avoided change. ‘Hope Within Hatred’ is the flip side of that, about having your own voice, embracing change and facing the ugly truth about things.”
The album is due out later this year and is produced by Robert Beltran of Precision Studio, LLC in Corpus Christi, TX. In addition to production from Robert, SHATTERED SUN also credits Spineshank guitarist Mike Sarkisyan with assisting with pre-production duties and general consultation. The band greatly appreciates the work put in by both Mike Sarkisyan and Robert Beltran. “We’ve been working with Rob Beltran for a while now and he’s definitely become more than just our producer. To us, he’s family and at times feels like a seventh member of the band. In addition, we’ve learned a lot from Mike Sarkisyan through our early touring days and keep in contact with him still to this day,” adds Marcos.
