ROHNERT PARK, CA (July 5, 2017) – Second Octave and the 2017 SOMO Concert Series are pleased to announce the full summer series at SOMO Village in Rohnert Park. Tickets are on sale now at SOMOConcerts.com.

On Tuesday, July 11th, ​California Roots and SOMO Concerts bring a night of reggae, hip-hop, punk and good vibes with renowned crowd pleasers Dirty Heads, Grammy-nominated reggae band SOJA, Hawaiian Roots Reggae stalwarts The Green and Washington D.C.’s Indie-go-go trio RDGLDGRN. On Saturday, July 29th, ​SOMO Concerts and California Conscious Music Festival invite you to a day long pop-up festival filled with 2 stages of high energy positive reggae, roots and fusion for lovers of legends and locals with reggae icon Maxi Priest, reggae ambassadors Third World, high energy North Bay favorites Sol Horizon, Chico’s reggae fusion rockers Mystic Roots, San Francisco’s island soul reggae band Native Elements and hip-hop reggae artist The Mighty Mystic and The Hard Roots Movement. On Saturday, August 19th, ​SOMO Concerts and Notable Talent invite you to a day long pop-up festival filled with nationally acclaimed Sonoma grown blues and a beautifully curated fine art gallery. Patrons will be delighted by the main stage featuring legendary local living
bluesman Charlie Musselwhite, vocalist, guitarist, composer, producer and Santa Rosa High School Alumnus Doyle Bramhall II, Award Winning Bay area Blues vocalist Ms Taylor P Collins and Vallejo-based gospel sensations The Sons of The Soul Revivers. In the Redwood Grove our second stage welcomes “Electric Chicago Blues from Muddy to Buddy” with Sonoma County’s stalwart The Blues Defenders and Special Guest veteran guitarists Levi Lloyd and Volker Strifler. Kathleen McCallum, a long-time North Bay artist, arts advocate and event

From August 24th-27th​ Flynn Creek Circus​, Mendocino County’s own charmingly nostalgic, surprisingly fresh all human circus will be raising their vintage big top tent in Rohnert Park. Experience an offbeat ‘film noir’ world created by top quality tightrope walkers, aerialists, jugglers, acrobats and comedians for a new 2017 show. ’Inter-Active’ fuses comedy, improvisation and jaw dropping skills to create a completely new genre in circus-theater. On Friday, September 15th, ​California Roots and SOMO Concerts will bring a night of globally good vibes with San Diego’s award-winning reggae group Tribal Seeds, Hawaii’s rock/reggae trio Pepper, musician/producer collective Fortunate Youth and surf pop band Aloha Radio. Doors open at 6pm with a 6:30pm show start. On Saturday, September 23rd​, the Earle Baum Center of the Blind and SOMO Concerts invite you to the tenth year of the tremendously successful Earle Fest benefit. This day long pop-up festival brings two stages of national and local acts along with sight loss education, food trucks, artists and local vendors. Headlining this year are East L.A. Legends Los Lobos joined by Bay Area party band California Honeydrops, Award Winning Songwriter Tift Merritt, and Kate Wolf’s Guitarist Nina Gerber with Pam Delgado and Jeri Jones on the main stage. The locally focused Hopmonk stage in the Redwood Grove features Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist Arielle, Sonomacana boot stompers Timothy O’Neil Band, International Bluesy-grass Dirty Cello and Healdsburg’s Emily Lois. Sunday, October 15th​ brings a benefit for the Marine Mammal Center in partnership with Ron and Carolyn Kirk’s Bay Productions, the same folks who brought last year’s Valley Fire Benefit entitled “Putting Out the Fire”. Lineup will be announced soon.

 

On Saturday, October 21st​, SOMO Concerts releases their season finalé of this year’s pop-up festival season: the second annual Fϋnkendänk Oktoberfest Beer and Music Festival. This Sonoma County celebration fuses quality Craft Beer and outstanding Live Music. Blending the inviting experiences of HopMonk Tavern Beer Gardens with select brewery offering curated by Sonoma County craft beverage expert Nickolas ‘Fridge’ Garson, this is the celebration where the nation’s top brewers share their take on funky sours and danky, hop-forward ales. Traditional European lagers, served unfiltered from wooden kegs in the Oktoberfest beer garden, will also be offered. As connoisseurs enjoy their tasting adventures of the palate, music fans will delight in the incomparable good-time lineup of national touring acts Colorado Funk stars The Motet, NOLA supergroup Dragon Smoke and SF’s party band Afrolicious on the main stage as well as local stars Frobeck, The Pulsators and Saffell on the HopMonk stage in the Redwood Grove.
