Train makes a great stop in San Francisco.

The San Francisco band Train came back to their hometown and made a welcome stop.  Train made a 5 day stop in San Francisco starting with their show on April 11th at Great American Music Hall, Bimbo’s on the 12th, Slim’s on the 13th, Independent on the 14th and finishing it off at the historical Fillmore on the 15th.

Since I was at the Golden Gods Awards most of last week, I had the pleasure of enjoying their final show at the Fillmore. We got there around 5:30 and were not surprised to see a line that had formed since 9 am earlier that morning. The one thing Train is known for is having very dedicated fans!  We got in around 7:30 and got to enjoy a great local band; Finish Ticket. I will have my own review of them in the coming days. They were great!

At right around 9 pm, Train came on to perform “We were Made for This”. I knew right off that it was going to be another stellar performance by these guys! The set list for the night went like this:

We Were Made For This
This’ll Be My Year
If It’s Love
Save the Day
To Be Loved/Landmine/Rat
50 Ways
Bruises
Angels
Free
Soul Sister
Drum Break
Drive By
Mermaid
Finally Meet My Mom
For Me Its You
Save me San Francisco – joined by Barry Zito
Don’t Stop Believin’ joined by Barry Zito and Matt Cain
Virginia
Sing Together
Drops

These guys continued to perform everyone’s favorites from albums’ past as well as the soon to be new hits from their latest CD California 37. My personal favorite is “50 Ways to Say Goodbye”.  Also later in the show, Pat invited Barry Zito of the San Francisco Giants to join him in singing “Save me San Francisco”. It was incredible energy filling the room. Then right after it went full blown energy overload as Matt Cain from the San Francisco Giants joined Barry Zito and Train to perform Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin”. It was a surreal moment that is exactly what Pat promised it would be!

Well, tonight their new album “California 37” is out and I got mine right away and am loving every second of it! Make sure to start your week off right by getting your copy!

If you are a wine drinker, make sure to check out their signature line of wines which I have heard only great things about!

So enjoy!
