Concert Review

W.A.S.P. w. Lucky Bastardz and Rebellious Spirit, Munich, Theaterfabrik, October 29, 2015

What can you expect, when a band like W.A.S.P. announces a show? I can tell you…. A solid rock show in a packed house with a crowd that rocks hard throughout the whole show.

After almost six years W.A.S.P. released their latest record ‘Golgotha’ on October 2nd. 33 years in the business now, they lost nothing of their grip live, although they didn’t use fake blood or any other spooky props at their show, like they’re kind of famous for.

They started the show with ‘On Your Knees’ from their 1984 debut album ‘W.A.S.P.’ Four songs on the set-list were actually from that album, the record that holds many of their hit songs like f.e. ‘L.O.V.E. Machine’. They also played ‘Golgotha’, ‘The Last Runaway’ and the ballad ‘Miss you’ from their recent release. Anyway, old or new, the crowd seems to have known every word of every song. There were only two short breaks during the show. They finished their set with two of their most famous songs  ‘Wild child’ and ‘I wanna be somebody’, which made every last person in the place rock like crazy. There were lots of air guitars and dramatic gestures. It’s always good to see that bands/musicians, that are around for quite a while, can still rock the place and fill venues.

W.A.S.P. brought along two opening bands, ‘Lucky Bastardz’ from Italy and ‘Rebellious Spirit’ from Germany.
