One of our favorite artists, Des Rocs has just released a new song, This Land. The song is featured on the opening sequence of the Borderlands 4 game which is available worldwide. Buy/stream “This Land” HERE You can watch it here:

Des Rocs shares,

“I’ll never forget the first call when they told me what they were looking for in a song for Borderlands 4,” says Des. “I couldn’t stop grinning. They were describing exactly where my heart lies. Rock n’ roll that’s loud, raw, unfiltered, built for a foreign landscape. This song has that unhinged wild energy, the one I felt when I first picked up a guitar. It’s real and it’s rowdy, just like the music I worshipped growing up.”

Borderlands is one of the best-selling and most beloved video game franchises of all time. For the fourth installment, Des Rocs brings the raw energy and grit he’s known for, taking the helm for the main theme song, and following in the footsteps of Cage the Elephant and The Heavy, who set the tone for previous games.

Borderlands sparked a powerhouse collaboration with British pop icon, Zayn. Enter Des Rocs – the unexpected genre-defying choice brought in to shake up the status quo. In a landscape of predictable pairings, Des Rocs delivers something raw, innovative and electric for a pop star of Zayn’s caliber. The result is “Break Free,” written and produced by Des Rocs, dropping September 19.

Des Rocs also made a splash in movies this year. He recently contributed a killer rendition of the Johnny Cash classic, “Ring of Fire” to Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2 film soundtrack.

Follow Des Rocs for his upcoming episode of Subway Takes. The widely popular internet talk show hosted by Kareem Rahma, features ‘man on the street’ type interviews shot in the New York City Subway.

Des is currently putting the final touches on his new album, to be released first quarter of 2026 on Sumerian Records.
