The Mowgli’s are just about to conclude their national Real Good Life Tour tonight in Kansas City. The Mowgli’s have had a widely successful tour amid their multiple hit songs, constant touring, being on major labels and handling personal and physical challenges. With that, the band has taken quite a journey and their new songs are quite perspective. They have just released their new track Kansas City which is about:
“Kansas City” came from a place of self-reflection. After spending the majority of the past few years on the road, the band developed a deeper connection to the idea of home. Not just the physical space of a home, but the comfort, ease and sense of belonging that home brings. Writing the song was a reminder of the one thing that really makes a place home and a city unique: the people. Whether it’s the food, the architecture, the art, the scenery – it all stems from the people. Kansas City has always been a warm and welcoming place for the band and is somewhere they love playing, somewhere that feels like home. It also happens to be the hometown of guitarist/vocalist Colin Dieden. “This song is about missing the simplicity and familiarity of a life I used to live, that I often find myself looking for now,” says Dieden. They wrote this song for the City, and for all the people and places who give us a sense of home and make us who we are.
