The Waterboys have released the video for their new single ‘Here We Go Again’ – the third preview of their new album ‘All Souls Hill’, out May 6th on Cooking Vinyl. The album follows the critically acclaimed ‘ Good Luck Seeker” from 2020.

“Here We Go Again” is a rousing singalong whose freshness belies the lyrical subject matter.

“It’s the idea that we have a groundhog day together. We all look at the headlines, but no one seems to learn the lesson,” Mike Scott said of the track. “As a culture, we keep making the same mistakes. It’s an ironic look at the people who aren’t that smart – and yet I have a lot of fun being one.”

Late 2021 saw the release of the first song from the new album, “The Liar,” a graphic jab at political charlatanry, and “All Souls Hill” is another punch to the gut, with haunting imagery from the New York Public Library archive, where each painting illustrates a couplet from the incredible text of this string-dominated, lilting masterpiece.

“All Souls Hill is a fast-forward journey through human history, from mythical beginnings to the surging present, set to a psychodramatic soundscape.” ~ Mike Scott

“All Souls Hill” contains nine tracks by the Waterboys, all mixed by Scott himself. Announced after the band’s sold-out UK tour and the box set ‘The Magnificent Seven: The Waterboys’ Fisherman’s Blues/Room To Roam Band, 1989-1990′, “All Souls Hill” is a more current, hard-hitting social statement, but with a twist of hope.

” “The album ‘All Souls Hill’ is mysterious, otherworldly, badass and emotional,” says Mike. “I recorded it with the old and new Waterboys and my co-producer, the brilliant sound guru Simon Dine. The nine songs tell stories, explore dream worlds and take a cold but hopeful look at human drama.”

The Waterboys’ phenomenal latest album, their 14th studio album “Good Luck, Seeker”, was released last year to critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. The Daily Telegraph called it one of the cultural highlights of the summer, while Uncut, Mojo, Classic Rock, Record Collector, and others called it one of the band’s best records.
