Burn Halo’s new lineup is Tearing it Down in Sacramento!

Burn Halo which was created by James Hart (frontman of Eighteen Visions) sometime in 2007. They recently went through some lineup changes. Don’t worry, Joey Roxx, their kick ass guitarist is right up front and center (well stage left to be exact!) They brought in Sonny Tremblay on drums, Chris Paterson on rhythm guitar and Ryan Frost on bass guitar.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Burn Halo about 8 times since 2009 and I was ready to see Burn Halo with their new lineup at the Boardwalk- a small historical nightclub outside of Sacramento in Orangevale that has housed bands such as Hoobastank, Mudvayne, Thrice, Collective Soul, Black Veil Brides and so many more. For a complete list, visit their website listing of bands at www.http://www.boardwalkrocks.com/boardwalk.php

So this night up on the bill would be a six band lineup to include: Force of Habit, Some Fear None, Track Fighter, The Veer Union, Burn Halo and headliner Smile Empty Soul on their Jagermeister tour.  One of the early times I saw Burn Halo is when they shared the bill with The Veer Union in San Francisco and I loved both bands from the start! I had seen Track Fighter open for some bands at the awesome club in Sacramento, Ace of Spades and of course I was excited to see Smile Empty Soul which played back home for us in Santa Rosa only a couple years ago. A welcome return and worth the two hour drive.

With the night’s events and the setup time between bands taking a bit of time, when Burn Halo came out I wasn’t surprised that the set might have got cut down a bit. But when they came out, they delivered 100% and then some!! James came out strong with his vocals as he reconnected with his fans as they sang every word. Joey jumped right in and delivered his incredible guitar riffs and his intense solos that make you just stare in awe as his fingers dance on the fret board. You can’t help but be amazed by Sonny who displays an incredibly unique style of drumming. It is like he is channellilng the Rev and displaying his inner Joey Jordison. It is a sight that you have to enjoy! Then you look to the right and you just have the energy of Chris and Ryan mesmerize you. These guys are the perfect fit for this band. The energy level just picked right up.    On the Tear it Down solo, Joey does some awesome sweep picking that leaves you speachless!

So, I have to congratulate James on quite a great selection for his band. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the show and was hoping for a longer set. It just means that I have to be on the lookout for more Burn Halo shows. So if they are coming to your town; don’t miss them! You will be sorry if you did.

I will post the tour dates as I get them. So for now, get yourself on Itunes and get their latest CD “Up from the Ashes”! It kicks ass!!!

More videos and photos to come from the show! As you know, we had the great computer fire of 2012 which hopefully our Drive G will be salvaged along with our concert photos and footage!!
