12 Days of Rock Christmas!
Day 6

On the 6th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me an incredible treasure from down under called Tracer. This one took me by surprise since the second I heard it, I was grinning from ear to ear as if I had just won the lottery. I quietly crept into Rockin Ryan’s Garage to plug in my favorite pair of Marshall headphones so I could really take a good listen to this band. I needed to make sure what I was hearing was just as awesome I thought it was… Well verdict IN. YES, it was. It was a gift of sweet classic rock soaked in grungy sweat that just tickled my senses!

Judging from the intense and larger than life sound that Tracer  delivers, it is hard to believe that it is just three guys in this band. Michael Brown has flawless vocals and wields out some excellent riffs and high energy solos and hooks on the guitar. Pat Saracino is also on vocals and dominates his bass while he feeds you smooth, sexy basslines. Precision drumming is provided by Andre Wise. There you have it a powerful trio of classic rock from Australia that reminds me of some late ’70s and early ’80s rock. When I listened to Spaces In Between I could feel hints of early Aerosmith, Soundgarden and even some Saigon Kick.

Tracer recently won the “Best New Band” at the Classic Rock Magazine awards in England. These guys may have been around for a while but it is great to see them getting the recognition they deserve. I just can’t wait for them to come on over here to the States and treat us to their shows!  There is word out that they have come to Los Angeles to record their new album which is being produced by the great Kevin “the Caveman” Shirley. Kevin has worked with some of the greatest artists; Led Zeppelin, Rush, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and so many more.  I really can’t wait to find out more about their new album and will keep you posted on the latest news.

Are you ready to Rock out??? Check out this video of “Too Much”  which is from their second album Spaces in Between.

They will be doing a UK tour in April 2013 but I will still be praying for them to do some shows when they are recording in Los Angeles. Hint, hint, GUYS!! Preferably during NAMM week. OK, I know I am asking a lot there but anytime they are playing in LA, I will head down for it. I don’t want to miss them.   This next song you have to check out is “Devil Ride” and has a Foo Fighters to it. It has a great edgy sound and I love Andre’s work on this one! Hell, I love it all!

That was a great one!  Today I will be rocking around the Christmas Tree to Tracer.

~ Enjoy, Marisol
