Marilyn Manson in Cannes Film, “Wrong Cops”

First I must tell you, I have not always been a big Marily Manson fan. Actually I was one of those people who thought he was some “freakishly” weird looking wannabe musician many many years ago. I passed him off as a fad and paid no attention to him for several years. Then my son Ryan when he was about 12 or so started playing his music on the rides to school. I was always open to all types of music but I remember driving him and his friends around and hearing the 12 year old girls singing loudly on a ride to a concert, “Sex, Sex, Sex and don’t forget the violence”. I wanted to ban him from playing the song! Then I would catch myself playing the song when I was on my long drives to the Bay Area. Darn, I started really liking that catchy tune….. Then it was asking Ryan for what else he had of Marilyn Manson to listen to.

I was then hooked as we would be listening to the “Tainted Love” remake and “Beautiful People”. So I had become a Marilyn Manson fan and I now applaud his individuality. He does what he wants and puts his name to what he wants, not selling himself to just sell records, etc.   It was great to see Marily Manson perform live earlier this year at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. He was awesome. I took my son Ryan with me as I covered the show and the highlight of the night was watching Manson perform with Johnny Depp on guitar. What a great treat that was as well as his duet with Taylor Momsen of the band Pretty Reckless and CW TV show Gossip Girl.

Now, you can watch Marily Manson play a “street hustler” who is wearing what appears to be a Members Only jacket who meets up with a crooked drug dealing cop  in the film “Wrong Cops” which is being shown at the Cannes Film Festival. This quirky yet captivating short was written and directed by Quentin Dupiex. So for now, we only have the 1st installment of the short for you to watch but tell me what you think. I really enjoy Marilyn Manson in everything he does and I look forward to seeing what he has in store for all of us. I wanted to also share for you some of the video footage we took at the Golden Gods Awards earlier this year.
