SPOTLIGHT BAND: Bay Area rockers CRASH PILOT release new video and song, SIP

Who could ask for anything better as a birthday gift than a new video/song from rockers Crash Pilot?  Hell yeah, what a great day to celebrate the new music out now from Crash Pilot. They are releasing their new song, SIP and it has a killer video that will have you ready to rock. Who is Crash Pilot?

CRASH PILOT features singer/songwriter Nikki Scott, Shredmeister Omri KB, bassist David Alvarez and drummer Cody Dawson.  Our mission is pretty simple, we’re here to play kick ass rock n roll and have fun in the process. We thrive on the adrenaline we get from performing live on stage, and we all share a deep passion for music. The songs we write are a reflection of our collective influences and our lived experiences. The process of writing is a collaborative effort, and though Nikki is the lyricist we like to keep an open door policy for ideas. We are all good friends, on and off the stage and are very excited to share our vision with the world.

Nikki Scott explains to us the inspiration behind the song,

When I was originally writing “Sip” I was doing a lot of self-reflecting on my personal life, and in my relationships with others. In the pastI ’ve both been the toxic character portrayed in the song, and watched friends and family fall prey to the disease. For me personally, “Sip” is a reminder of how tempting it is to become Hyde, especially if you don’t find Jekyll to be as exciting(The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde). We must remember though, just like in the book, Hyde becomes an uncontrollable monster who destroys Jekyll’s reputation and eventually forces him to take his own life. The lesson being, that even though giving up control can feel liberating, it’s always better to keep your wits about you, your head clear and your feet on the ground. Be you. As for the music, I’ve always had a passion for writing and do most of my rough work on the bass and acoustic guitar. I say rough work, because I save most of the fancy stuff for the more talented players I work with. Essentially, Omri was able to chop a bunch of unnecessary crap out, add a killer guitar solo, and what was left, became “Sip”.

There is a bright future planned for Crash Pilot, they tell us,

Although collectively we all have years of stage experience, CRASHPILOT is a brand new group and we are just getting started. Luckily, we used much of our time during the recent pandemic to solidify our sound, write catchy songs and work on our stagecraft. So we are more than confident in what we are bringing to the stage, but we will let YOU be the judge of that. You can catch us live on Saturday, March 12that the Whiskey in Santa Rosa with supporting act Falkönner(https://falkonner.bandcamp.com/) and experience CRASHPILOT for yourself!
