AM TAXI’s new album, Shiver By Me, is sure to warm you up!

January 30, 2019

With the arrival of the Polar Vortex, it has sent extreme frigid conditions across America. Hopefully those affected are curled up at home. If so, we have the perfect album to warm you up! AM Taxi have just released their new album, Shiver By Me and it is spectacular from start to finish. It delivers exactly what we have been craving; their infectious blend of punk rock that is sure to rejuvenate your spirit. We were first introduced to AM Taxi and were mesmerized by their performance at Slim’s in San Francisco opening for The Spill Canvas. With the release of their new album, we can proclaim that we are just as hooked as that first night. They have returned with a sound that is addictive in every sense of the word.   Check out one of our fave tracks, Harpoon, that just screams that addictive AM Taxi sound: As many bands come and go experimenting or changing their style and sound to become unrecognizable, and more seem to stray from what everyone loves. Not AM Taxi. [Read More]

NEW MUSIC: AM TAXI release new song off their new album, Shiver By Me

January 3, 2019

It was nearly 9 years ago when we were first introduced to AM Taxi and were mesmerized by their performance at Slim’s in San Francisco opening for The Spill Canvas. Allow me to take you back that special show: Prior to starting it seemed that not many people were familiar with their music and were just waiting for the Spill Canvas to go onstage. Most of the audience was just mulling around the long L-shaped bar and mingling. As soon as AM TAXI peformed the first song; it was apparent that they were well received. People began to go to the stage and it was soon deep with people and all their attention was on AM TAXI. It was as if they knew they were watching a band that was soon going to be very well known and they didn’t want to miss any of it. Their energy was infectious and the crowd was soon moving around to their eclectic songs. By the time they played “Fed Up” it seemed everyone was glued to them. [Read More]

AM Taxi will have you fall back in love with the mixtape as they release, Semi-Confessional

May 6, 2016

Long before the Ipods, MP3 players, shared playlists, or cds, there was the mixtape. It was the true symbol of youth culture and a musical gem that you would listen to, from front to back. It would become the soundtrack of your life and experiences. They would include a mix of songs and styles, tell stories through the songs,  maybe even some bonus tracks or stripped down acoustic songs, they were special. Many  artists have continued the tradition of creating mixtapes but I would have to commend AM Taxi for their new limited edition mixtape, Semi-Confessional. This is the mixtape gem! From the first time we played it we were grinning ear to ear. It is refreshing to have true ear porn in this world, instead of the clamor of auto-tune, genre mix-ups/blunders, and incoherent blabber! The mixtape features 11 songs; it contains one previously released track along with seven new songs, one dub remix, and two acoustic tracks recorded live in the studio. Special guests include Ike Reilly, Genevieve (Company of Thieves), Michael “Miguel” [Read More]

AM Taxi release live studio video of Shake, Rattle and Stall

March 23, 2016

AM TAXI is one of the first bands we ever featured on Music Junkie Press, nearly six years ago as we embarked on our music site journey. From the first time we saw them opening up for The Spill Canvas at Slim’s in San Francisco, we were blown away and instantly fell in love with their music which was a blend of punk and rock with captivating gritty vocals. They have persevered through lineup changes and a label that I think didn’t truly appreciate the honest true talent that was right in front of them.  AM Taxi is one of our favorite bands with a sound that is addictive in every sense. They are definitely back on the music scene and are working on releasing a mixtape, Semi-Confessional on May 13th. They recently released a video which was shot at the IV Lab Studio in Chicago and filmed by Press Photoraphy Network Inc. It features the band performing Shake, Rattle and Stall. It is awesome and I can’t wait for the tape!   AM Taxi [Read More]
