Motionless In White and Skold live in Munich at the Backstage Werk – SOLD OUT!

December 6, 2019

Motionless In White announced their European/UK tour a few months back. After several weeks, shows started selling out and in some places, the band switched to a bigger venue. That also happened in Munich. So they changed from the Backstage Halle to the Backstage Werk, a venue with about 1300 people capacity. Looking at the places MIW played in Munich before, esp. when they were touring as a headliner, it was a major jump. Motionless In White, like many other bands, started with their first show here in the Club, the smallest venue on the Backstage area. Chris Motionless tells this story every time he gets to Munich, but promised this time, to put that speech to rest now: In 2011 they played in front of about 15 people and they weren’t even interested in the band and practically ignored them. The other times they have been to Munich they played as support act for bands like Lacuna Coil and Asking Alexandria. And every time it seems their audience grew. Now, due to the success [Read More]

There is an abundance of things to do on a Friday night in Las Vegas.  But on September 27th, the place to be was at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. Greta Van Fleet brought their March of the Peaceful Army Tour to a sold out crowd and delivered a spellbinding and ethereal performance. Fans lined up early for the General Admission show and the crowd was a pleasant display of diversity through age, culture, race, etc.  The collection of  people from all walks of life came together in peace, love and unity to celebrate the music of Greta Van Fleet. The night kicked off with a crowd pleasing set by Shannon and The Clams. The energy of the crowd radiated and intensified as they anxiously awaited the arrival of Greta Van Fleet to the stage. As the lights dimmed and the smokes billowed, the band took to the stage and the crowd went wild. Frontman Josh Kiszka threw out the highly desired white roses and then announced, “It’s another day at the [Read More]

Combichrist, Soulfly and Rave The Requiem live in Munich at the Backstage August 7th, 2019

September 21, 2019

After an extensive tour through the US in April and May 2019 with over 40 dates, Combichrist went over the great pond to continue their ‘One Fire’ tour through Europe and the UK in June, July and August 2019. We were lucky to catch the band live in Munich on August 7th. It was the only double-headliner show the band did with Soulfly, well-known through it’s frontman Max Cavalera (ex-Sepultura). Opening act was a Swedish band called ‘Rave The Requiem’. While unknown to most of the people, they could easily win over the crowd. Their performance was very energetic with an amazing female vocalist Jenny Fagerstrandh. Her voice complements the bands vocalists’ and guitarists’ Filip Lönnqvist. Him also being the founder of the band. RTR released their latest record ‘FVNERAL’ in October 2018. Make sure to check them out live, if you get a chance. Combichrist and Soulfly as co-headliners, a strange combination one might think….. When the date was first announced, it was only Combichrist, Soulfly have been added to the line-up later on. The Word Alive – Anniversary tour 2019 – with Aviana, Of Virtue and Make Them Suffer in Munich at the Backstage Halle (05/09/2019)

May 17, 2019

Phoenix-based Band The Word Alive formed in 2008. In 2009 they already signed to Fearless Records and later that year the band released their debut EP ‘Empire’. Fast forward 10 years and here we are. The band is currently on a anniversary tour run, which they started with a few dates in the US, followed now by an extensive European/UK run, which includes a performance at the famous Slam Dunk festival on May 25th/26th in the UK. Anniversary tours always promise to be something special, no exception with The Word Alive. They brought a huge set-list with them that included 17 songs from every era of their career. Over the last few weeks the band asked the fan via social media which songs they’d love to hear live and made clear, that for some songs it’ll the be the last time to be performed live, esp. the early songs. The tour line-up this time was a bit diverse with Make Them Suffer as arguably a pretty heavy band being the ‘odd one out’ that night. [Read More]
