Check it out here: Myles Kennedy recalls, “The lyric was actually inspired by thinking back to my situation as a kids. I was this really small, underdeveloped kid who had to work extremely hard to keep up with all of my peers. It was very frustrating. I would hear a lot of words of encouragement from parents, coaches, or teachers though. A lot of those things were stored away, and they manifested themselves in this song. I’ve been able to apply some of those concepts in my life a thousand times over since then.” You can [Read More]

Blake Morgan and Janita tour the west: two diamonds sparkling in the stage lights

August 29, 2016

(Los Angeles). If you live in any of the cities where Blake Morgan and Janita are performing on the remainder of their West Coast tour you should cancel what you are doing and see them live.  If not, buy their albums and play them in headphones with your eyes closed.  Either way, the experience is transformative, as it was Saturday night on the Second Stage of Hollywood’s renowned Hotel Café.  Blake’s bell-pure voice, stunning guitar chops and poetry-in-music lyrics made the outside world disappear.  When teamed with Janita, the effect was far more than the sum of its parts – it was magic;  it took both your breath and your cares away.   Both Morgan and Janita are stunning singer-songwriters and experienced at-ease performers who kept an almost full house mesmerized for two hours, with Morgan opening and delivering nine songs, some new and some from his albums, and Janita doing the same in the second set, accompanied by Morgan on the guitar and vocals.  The songwriting was inspired and the passion that drove the [Read More]

Watch 1986 Faith No More performance at SF’s I-Beam and pick up Remastered We Care A Lot (Deluxe Band Edition)

August 25, 2016

Let me take you back to a hot and sweaty show at San Francisco’s I-Beam Nightclub. The nightclub once located at 1748 Haight Street was quite eclectic and has quite a rich history of party nights. It was well known for it’s dance and DJ nights but in the 80’s the venue would feature live bands nearly four days a week. One of those nights, a Monday in January Faith No More would deliver their high energy set. You can check out a video of that full performance here: Audio from two of the songs performed that January 13 evening, “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings,” are included on the reissue. The original 10-song album, which has been re-mastered by Maor Appelbaum via the original reels Bill Gould unearthed in his basement, is enhanced with nine bonus tracks including demo versions (taken from the original 8-track tapes) of “Greed,” “Mark Bowen,” “Arabian Disco” and “Intro,” live versions of “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings” and new mixes, via Matt Wallace, of “We Care A Lot,” “Pills for [Read More]

Scott Stapp delivers an awe-inspiring performance out on his Tour

August 18, 2016

Earlier this week, Grammy award winning artist Scott Stapp brought his Tour to the McNears Mystic Theater in Petaluma, CA.  We have been looking forward for a couple years now to catching Scott out on tour and he truly blew us away. The night began with an energy rousing hard rockin set by Bridge To Grace. These four guys from Atlanta, GA were incredible as they fueled the crowd with adrenaline and a fierce set. Scott and his band took to the stage and delivered a magical awe inspiring performance. In an interview with Scott back in 2014, we talked about what he most looks forward to out on the road and he explained this feeling, “I look forward to this feeling that I get onstage… compared to an athlete being “in the zone”. It keeps me fired up and passionate and I want that feeling, and I strive to go to that place live where you almost feel like you are not in control but you have no fear. You feel you can hit every [Read More]
