Interview with the awe-inspiring Lacey Sturm as she sets out on tour and captivates crowds.

April 12, 2016

Sunday night at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma was a magical one. We were excited for the arrival of Lacey Sturm, who is out on tour with Otep, September Mourning, Doll Skin and Through Fire. The legendary Phoenix Theater which was named after rising from the ashes after several fires in it’s history, served as the perfect backdrop for such an amazing night of inspiring music by Lacey. She has embarked on tour in support of her solo album, Life Screams which was released in February 2016. It is not only a bad ass hard rockin album, but it is a musical gem gleaming with honest raw emotionally driven tracks that have the power to help, heal or inspire the listener. Lacey creates a solid connection to the listener and brings a light to those who might be in a dark place. This album is one of my favorites and to see her perform live on Sunday, was spellbinding and uplifting. We had the chance to chat with Lacey before her set and are pleased to bring [Read More]

Concert Review: Incarnate Tour with Killswitch Engage, Memphis May Fire, 36 Crazyfists and Toothgrinder

April 11, 2016

The Incarnate Tour featuring Killswitch Engage, Memphis May Fire, 36 Crazyfists and Toothgrinder made a stop in Sacramento last week at the Ace of Spades. It was a sold out show and the venue was packed as Toothgrinder kicked off the night with a fiercely energetic set. They got the crowd in a frenzy with their progressive metal that had a full on mosh pit within minutes. This is one band that you don’t want to miss. Next up was 36 Crazyfists, a favored metal band out of Alaska. They were well received by the crowd and had a lot of dedicated fans in attendance. They had everyone headbanging and fists in the air. Memphis May Fire brought on a sea of crowd surfers and an endless wave of fans trying to get that perfect “crowd surfing selfie”. The band sounded tight and on spot, giving 150% of themselves on that stage. Killswitch Engage hit the stage as disco lights and 70’s songs were in full swing. The crowd was refueled and ready for an [Read More]

Concert Review Funeral For A Friend – Last Chance To Dance – tour with ZOAX and Shai Hulud

April 5, 2016

Munich, Kranhalle (Feierwerk),  March 29th, 2016   Funeral For A Friend are currently on a farewell tour through different countries. They say goodbye to their audience after 15 years. With them on this tour are ZOAX, a relatively new band from the UK and Shai Hulud, a US based band that is in the business for about 20 years now. There’s always two shows in a row with playthroughs of the band’s first two records ‘Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation’ and `Hours’.   Opening band was ZOAX. They’re from the UK and formed in 2013. It was their third time playing in Germany, so far always as an opening band. We were lucky to catch Adam Carroll (vocals) and Doug Wotherspoon (guitar) for an interview that you can check out here: It was my second time to see them play, first was with Nothing More in November 2015. Both times were great. Adam has an awesome way to interact with the audience, inviting them several times to come closer to the stage and [Read More]

The Struts deliver stellar performance as they kick off their U.S. Tour

March 31, 2016

It was a Monday night in Santa Barbara and the line to the Velvet Jones venue was long and filled with excited music lovers. It was the opening night for The Struts as they began their US headlining tour and Santa Barbara was the first stop. The show had been sold out for a while and we couldn’t wait to see them. We first caught The Struts live as they opened for Motley Crue in Las Vegas in December. They blew us away, and to be able to see them in a much more intimate venue such as Velvet Jones, was a dream come true. The diverse crowd which included fans of all ages were anxiously awaiting the show. The night kicked off with a great set from alternative rockers, The Shelters. They have such raw energy that grabs your attention and has you instantly hooked. Check out some photos by our Rockin Ryan: The energy continued on as Bleeker hit the stage. They brought a garage-grunge rock vibe to the crowd, complete with hooky heavy sounds [Read More]

Interview with Robert and TJ of Escape the Fate at Fresno show.

March 26, 2016

Escape the Fate have been quite busy with some extensive touring in support of their latest release Hate Me. With the album being out for less than six months, they have continued to deliver high energy shows as well as receive high praises. We had the chance to catch them as they played at Strummers in Fresno, CA last Thursday. It was the night before their last show of the tour and they once again gave the crowd a high dose of explosive rock. We caught up with Robert and TJ before their set and are pleased to bring that interview to you here:   The night kicked off with a great sets by local bands, Days Under Authority and Hideouts. They got the venue ready to rage and New Years Day continued to take them to new levels with a ferocious set that had the crowd singing along and moshing to every tune. Just when you thought the crowd was at it’s peak, they digged deep and raged even harder as Escape the Fate took [Read More]

Interview with The Virginmarys – Santa Rosa show

March 9, 2016

We are pleased to bring you our interview with The Virginmarys as they made a stop in Santa Rosa for their tour with Shinedown. The show was incredible as they delivered a flawless set. They truly left an impression on the audience at the Wells Fargo Event Center and it was no surprise that everyone would be singing their praise. Here is our interview and we were able to include a couple of the fan submitted questions from The Virginmarys Fan Community on Twitter. (Make sure to follow them now that you are a VMS fan!) We had hoped to include all of the fan questions but we didn’t want to take up too much of the guys time before they performed. We will make sure to do another one with them and will put the call out to the dedicated fans once again. You can also check out the photos of their set here by our Rockin Ryan: The Virginmarys are an incredible live band. Ally Dickaty on vocals/guitar is fierce as he bounces around and fills [Read More]
