Interview with From Ashes to New at Ace of Spades

December 24, 2015

This past weekend, From Ashes To New recently wrapped up the Christmas Vacation Tour with Falling In Reverse, Atreyu and Assuming We Survive. The tour made a stop in Sacramento at the Ace of Spades and we were definitely not going to miss it. From Ashes To New have been one of the bands on my must see list. They came on to the modern metal music scene with passion, energy and determination that will have them standing out from the rest. We had the chance to chat with vocalist Chris and drummer Tim shortly before their set. Check out our interview with them here: We can’t wait for the release of their forthcoming album Day One. This is one of those bands that you will have to keep your eye on because they are definitely on their way. Check out photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan: You can also check out their video for their song Through It All: Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date [Read More]

Motor Sister announce special holiday hometown show on December 19th!

December 10, 2015

Motor Sister have announced a very special hometown holiday show on December 19th at Molly Malones. You can pick up tickets by heading over to Ticketweb. Motor Sister released their debut full-length, Ride, earlier this year to critical acclaim. Comprised of a group of musicians whose collective musical pedigrees speak for themselves (Mother Superior‘s Jim Wilson, Anthrax‘s Scott Ian, Pearl Aday,Fates Warning/Armored Saint‘s Joey Vera, and White Zombie/Testament‘s John Tempesta), the quintet was originally assembled to jam for Scott Ian’s 50th birthday party. Thanks to Scott’s wife Pearl Aday, who has been working on her solo career with Jim Wilson for years, all it took was a quick phone call and the stage was literally set for Scott’s dream gig. “I wanted to cherry-pick a set list of my favorite Mother Superior songs and get these guys together and have the concert at my house,” Scott says of the event that eventually led to an album. Since their formation and the release of Ride, Motor Sister has performed at the prestigious Motorhead Motorboat cruise, in addition [Read More]

Interview with blues rockers Kingsborough as they gear up for another great year

December 9, 2015

The end of the year tends to be a time for bands to wind down but that is not the case for blues rockers Kingsborough from Santa Rosa. They have continued to keep the rock torch alive with great shows around the Bay Area.  This is one band that we have been following for a couple years now and they truly give 150% every time they perform. As I have mentioned before, their music is a very welcoming fusion of soulful blues and classic rock but with a much more modernized face lift! They literally bring an intensity to their music, soulful vocals that just grab a hold of you, catchy choruses, spectacular guitar solos, striking rhythms and big harmonies that need their own zip code. This is one band that you can only be described as “ROCK AND ROLL AT ITS FINEST”.     We had the chance to chat with them last Friday as they were about to perform at 755 After Dark in Sebastopol. Check out our interview with them: They have another show [Read More]

The Veer Union set to release new album, Decade on January 29th

December 8, 2015

The Veer Union are set to release their new album, Decade on January 29th via Pavement Entertainment. On December 16, 2015 the band will start a Facebook Bundle Pre-Order that includes a signed CD and Veer Union t-shirt. https://www.facebook.com/theveerunion . 2016 marks the 10 year span between The Veer Unions’ first album “Time To Break The Spell” (2006) and their brand new release appropriately titled “Decade”. This marks 10 years of The Veer Union and their struggles of overcoming adversity and follows the highly successful 2012 release “Divide The Blackened Sky”. Lead vocalist Crispin Earl took a rather unique approach to coincide with the concept of the new album “Decade”. He took the opportunity to take 5 unreleased songs which were written before the first incarnation of The Veer Union 10 years ago, and  bring them back to life. 5 brand new songs were also written for this new album bridging the span of over a DECADE proving that The Veer Union can stand the test of time. By incorporating the original vision of the band [Read More]

Barb Wire Dolls blow the roof of DNA Lounge with their recent performance in SF.

December 7, 2015

The bad ass punk rockers Barb Wire Dolls are just about to perform their last show in USA tomorrow night at the legendary Whisky A GoGo. They will be heading back to Greece to work on new music for 2016.  We were so glad we had the chance to catch them Friday night at the Above DNA Lounge in San Francisco. We were not going to miss them and made sure we arrived early to catch all the opening bands. The night kicked off with a highly energetic punk infused rock set by Year of The Fist. They are from Oakland and I look forward to catching them again. They started the night off with fierce energy! Next up was a Bay Area band that I have been waiting to see, Modern Kicks. These young guys brought the rock and roll spirit to the crowd with a much needed dose of old school rock and punk attitude. Hold on tight, they are ready to take you for a wild ride. The night continued on with a [Read More]
