Nothing More w. Zoax, Munich, Backstage, Nov. 26th 2015. Concert Review by Alex Bock

November 29, 2015

After having to skip the first tour of Nothing More through Germany with Halestorm in summer, I finally made it to the Munich show of their current European tour. The last one promoting their recent self-titled record. It was actually their third time in Germany already, all this year, because they also attended this year’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Opening act for this part of the European tour is Zoax, a band from the UK.  Zoax formed in 2013 and released their second EP in February 2015. Their music’s a bit heavier than Nothing More, but nevertheless both bands fit perfectly together. The five piece from London delivered a fun and groovy set. Their singer Adam handles the crowd pretty well, leaving the stage to mingle with the crowd during one song, climbing the stairs to a kind of balcony in the venue to play some tunes on an acoustic guitar. He really knows how to involve the audience into the show. It was more like a meeting with friends, than [Read More]

They played songs off their forthcoming album and a highlight was to see them perform Bloodbath & Beyond live! Check out some photos by Rockin Ryan of their set:     The lineup was incredible and it offered a variety of [Read More]

Walk the Moon and their stellar performance at the sold out SF Masonic

October 27, 2015

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my week off than by catching Walk The Moon deliver an uplifting energetic set at SF Masonic. The first time I caught them perform was last year as the special guest on Panic! at the Disco The Gospel Tour concert at SJSU. I have been waiting for their return and this time their headlining show brought them back to San Francisco. The night kicked off with the infectious bubbly brat pop music of Holychild. They got the crowd moving in no time.  Check out a couple photos of their set by Rockin Ryan: After Holychild, the immensely talented Saint Motel took over and kept the energy flowing with a swirling dose of indie dream pop. They played songs off their new EP, especially my fave; Cold, Cold Man. Here are some photos:   The energy in the Masonic was nearly at its peak when Walk The Moon hit the stage. This band which has been described as anything from indie to electro-visual, really can be summed up [Read More]
