Our wish has come true as William Control announces the return of Aiden

January 3, 2015

Here we are at the beginning of 2015 and one of our wishes has been answered. William Control has announced the return of Aiden as he plans on releasing a new Aiden record as well as a tour. It will be so exciting to see the return of Aiden as William Control will bring out the punk rock once again in all of us. 2014 was quite a busy year for William as he put in some non stop touring in support of Neuromancer, he released his book Revelator and traveled the globe.  He has big plans for 2015 and will be kicking off some acoustic shows  here on the West Coast. Check out William’s complete post on his Facebook page here: Darlings, I walk through the insanity of this beautiful world that surrounds me and I fall madly in love with it, as if I have just arrived in a foreign place I’ve never travelled to. I’m in awe of its grandeur and the wondrous complexity it exudes, yet I’m still slightly terrified [Read More]

12 Days of Vocalists

Day 7 of our 12 Days of Vocalists goes to Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil

December 21, 2014

We are very excited to announce our Day 7 featured vocalist as Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil. This is one amazing woman with a powerful voice that truly ignites energy in a crowd and emotions in your heart.  Cristina is stunning on stage as she captivates her crowd and always gives a 150% of herself at each and every show. Her vocal range is superb and she has this way of truly connecting with the listener and their emotions which is somewhat hard to do when you are dealing with hard rock and metal. For Cristina, it appears to come so easy as her voice takes you on a musical journey that you don’t want to end.  She can deliver deep powerful lyrics as well as serenade with sweet angelic tones, simply beautiful!  She is also a beautiful person inside and out and has a charming personality that just lights up any room she enters.  Check out the interview with did with Cristina earlier this year in Sacramento at the Ace of Spades:   [Read More]

Concert Review of The Knitts at The Mint in Los Angeles (12/11)

December 19, 2014

Hailing from an unmarked shipping container in a gritty industrial area of Van Nuys, The Knitts create a unique blend of garage, post-punk and anglo punk. The five-piece band recently captivated audiences last week with a short set of all-new material at The Mint in LA, an intimate, historic venue known for hosting both famous and up-and-coming artists.   The opening track, “Hold Steady Pretty Lady,” established the group’s tone of loud, quick percussion and sharp vocals. Each song thereafter was just as punchy and spirited, carrying elements of The Clash and Joy Division. The band’s dynamic presence amazed the audience, especially as lead vocalist Justin Volkens joined on drums in anti-prom anthem “She Likes The Idea of Gold.” This dreamy track was considerably slower tempo than the rest of the set, but still maintained the group’s maverick personality. While The Knitts’ energy is reminiscent of a not-so-sweet-sixteen party, they have a surprisingly long history. The group traces its roots to the last years of Hollywood’s Knitting Factory. As guitarist Charlie Volkens worked in the [Read More]
