The Scarlet Opera tops our BottleRock Napa 2024 highlight list

Every year BottleRock brings us that one band that stands out from all the rest and arrives at the top of our highlight list. This year the honors are taken by an up and coming LA rock band, The Scarlet Opera. The band is led by lyricist and frontman Luka Bazulka and and equally talented band members; Colin Kenrick [keyboard], Daniel Zuker [bass], Justin Siegal [drums], and Chance Taylor [guitar].   If I had to simply describe them, it would be; imagine if Queen, Styx and My Chemical Romance had a musical orgy. They are a mesmerizing fusion of glam rock, alternative and pop, bringing to life a dynamic and theatrical performance. Starbenders release new song and video for We’re Not Ok

One of our favorite sets of 2022 was catching Starbenders perform at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.  We had been following the Atlanta-born glam/punk rockers for a while and finally got to see them LIVE. CrashDiet re-releases original demo from 2003, limited supply!

One of, if not the best Glam Metal bands out today, CrashDiet is set to re-release their first EP!  CrashDiet announced on their Facebook page the following: Since it’s been around 10 years ago we recorded our first demo, we decided to re-release it (on our own) on limited edition digipack CD. Martin Sweet has revisited the old original Cubase projects recorded in his home with Dave, Peter & Eric in Hallonbergen, Stockholm back in 2003. Day 8 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to BlackRain

Let’s get down and dirty for Day 8 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. How about some French glam rockers, BlackRain for Day 8?? These bad ass rockers first started in 2006 and quickly rose to fame in Europe and have become one of the most noted French rock bands.  You have Swan on Vocals and Guitars, Max on lead guitar and Mat on Bass and Frank on Drums. The first time I heard BlackRain is when my son Rockin Ryan played Overloaded for me and I was instantly transformed back to my nights spent on the Sunset Strip in the ’80s. At first I thought I was listening to an old Motley Crue track!! Swan on vocals just blows you away with his powerful voice and he has perfected the high vocal ranges of the ’80s. Get Ready, Simon Cruz and Terror Launch new clothing line!

One of my favorite singers is teaming up to launch a new clothing line and it is going be just as WILD as he is!!!! Simon Cruz of Crashdiet and Terror have released a teaser video to announce their launch of their upcoming clothing line. You can check it out here:   I love this teaser video, especially the part when Simon and Terror are huddled in the attic sewing the clothes. It completely reminds me of my son Rockin Ryan when he is doing his custom threads. Obviously it will be an amazing line because if you have seen the clothing that Simon wears on and off stage he has some bitchin style!  We had the opportunity to catch Crashdiet as they played at the DNA Lounge earlier this year. They put on the best live show and truly just bleed energy!
