Interview with Jake Furia and catch him on tour this summer

June 25, 2014

The multi genre performer, Jake Furia definitely has a passion for music. I love that this young talented musician is so versatile with his music and it truly shows with  his well crafted songs on his new EP, The Acoustic EP.  The EP, which was recorded at Get Open Studios in Long Island and engineered by Michael Coppola, it can be purchased on iTunes here: http://bit.ly/1elu3gd. “‘The Acoustic EP’ for me is a starting point. It’s music in a really raw and bare-bones format, and I wanted to start with it for that reason. In my career, I want to get to experience music in as many ways as I can. Everyone who loves art has something in  specific to them that they love about it. I think thats beautiful and I want to discover all’ve those things.” explains Furia. We had the opportunity to talk with Jake and are pleased to bring that to you here: * * * * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: The Acoustic EP is quite impressive, for [Read More]

English legendary actor/singer, Sir Christopher Lee has released a metal EP, Metal Knight on his 92nd birthday. He then released his first metal album, Charlemagne: Omens of Death on his 91st Birthday.  Lee mentions in a video, “I associate heavy metal with fantasy because of the tremendous power that the music delivers,” Check out that video here:   The track listing for the EP is as follows: 1 I, Don Quixote 2 The Impossible Dream 3 The Toreador March 4 My Way (Radio Edit) 5 I, Don Quixote (Extended Version) 6 The Impossible Dream (Extended Version) 7 The Toreador March (Extended Version)   Sir Christopher mentions that the album was inspired by ‘Don Quixote’, [Read More]

Decoded has just released their music video for their catchy song, Red Handed. From Ashes to New release new video for Stay This Way

January 8, 2014

From Ashes to New is a great group of six talented musicians from Pennsylvania. These guys were each known before for playing in bands in their local scene. Unfortunately, many bands are short lived or members change. Then you seem to be left with the truly faithful musicians who live their passion for music in everything that they do. What is even better, is gathering those musicians to form their own band. They not only bring their years of experience but their variety of musical influences. From Ashes to New is just that, almost a “super group” of sorts. These six guys came together and formed their band and in the short amount of time, are garnering a lot of well deserved attention. They currently have their self titled EP out and available on Itunes here. Who is Froms Ashes to New? You have Matt Brandyberry and Chris Musser on Vocals, Dan Kecki and  Branden “Boo” Kreider on Guitars, Jon-Mikel Valudes on Drums and Garrett Russell on Bass. Ready to check them out? decoded release new EP Topanga and it is a gift to my ears!

November 30, 2013

I just had the opportunity to listen to the new album by Derek Jordan’s band, decoded.  Decoded has been through  well over a dozen member changes since their 2012 start but through it all frontman Derek Jordan and drummer Heather Miller weathered the changes and came out on top. They recently released their new EP Topanga and it is amazing! Today decoded is Derek Jordan, Heather Miller, Ian McCulloch and Amy Clark. It starts right off with a catchy down n dirty tune, Topanga that has a punk vibe to it. The energy it gives off will have you moving in no time. Some other highlights of the EP is the mesmerizing bass line in Last Night and the jazzy rock style and some sweet ass guitar of Red Handed. Not Easy Being Alone is truly my favorite song, it almost has a 60’s feel to it, psychedelic rock era . The lyrics emotionally draw you in and the vocals of Derek are mysterious yet commanding. He has an amazingly unique voice that I could listen to all day!!!! [Read More]
