The Juliana Theory share new EP “Still The Same Kid Pt. 1”

May 16, 2022

Emo/alternative rock pioneers The Juliana Theory have returned with their new EP ‘Still The Same Kids’ Pt.1 on Rude Records/Equal Vision Records. The EP features 5 songs that fully embrace the strengths of the band’s catalog of underground anthems without sacrificing an ounce of who the duo is now. Truth be told, The Juliana Theory always owed as much to The Beatles as to Sunny Deal Real Estate, with shades and shimmers of everything from Depeche Mode and Tears For Fears to The Foo Fighters in their arsenal. The first in a series of 3 EP’s to be released between now and 2023 on RUDE/EVR, ‘Still The Same Kids’ Pt.1 is a successor to the bands’ 2021 reimagined album “A Dream Away”, which featured newly encapsulated versions of beloved songs from prior releases. On the creative inspirations behind the swirling focus track “Less Talk”, frontman Brett Detar had this to say: “I love ‘Less Talk’. I genuinely feel good vibes just thinking about the song. To me it’s all about feel and that makes [Read More]

MNYS “…BEFORE THE INTERNET” EP OUT 17th JUNE 2022 VIA PURE NOISE RECORDS

May 8, 2022

MNYS has announced his beautiful new EP “…Before The Internet” to be released 17th June 2022 via Pure Noise. “This is the first project that I’ve gone into with cohesive intention both sound-wise and thematically. Mostly chasing this feeling that I had “before the internet” as we currently know it – before we were all expected to be brands or media companies” says MNYS. He continues: “most of my life, I’ve felt like an underdog – this need to prove myself. I talk a lot about the struggles of navigating personalities and relationships throughout life. Because even after you get what you think you want, it’s not at all what you expect it to be. So now I try to just blissfully play through music – just like I did before the internet”. Last week he released the lyric video for his new single “Everything’s Fine”. MNYS has spent a decade working on other artist projects, most recently he wrote “Thought It Was” for Iann Dior featuring MGK & Travis Barker. This new chapter of [Read More]

Corey Taylor announces new EP and releases cover song

February 12, 2022

GRAMMY® Awards-winning singer/songwriter, actor, and New York Times-bestselling author Corey Taylor shared the details on his new EP ‘CMFB….Sides’, which will be released February 25th via Roadrunner Records. The EP can be pre-ordered on all streaming platforms. The first single, a cover of John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band’s “On The Dark Side” is available HERE. ‘CMFB…Sides’ includes nine unreleased b-sides, cover-versions of songs that inspired the band, acoustic versions, and live tracks. Besides “On The Dark Side”, Taylor reduced the 1981 classic “Lunatic Fringe” from Red Rider to an impressionable acoustic number, pimped “Got To Choose” from Kiss and ‘punked up’ “All This And More” by Dead Boys. Originally recorded for The Metallica Blacklist, the EP also includes Taylors cover version of “Holier Than Thou” from Metallicas “Black” album. Probably the most surprising track is Eddie Money’s “Shakin”. The EP also includes acoustic versions of “Kansas” and “Halfway Down” from Taylors debut album ‘CMFT’ from 2020 as well as a powerful live-medley of “Home” and Stone Sours “Come What(ever) May”-final “Zzyxz Rd”.   [Read More]

The Rumjacks new single “Bounding Main” out NOW

January 22, 2022

The Rumjacks released another new song from their upcoming EP, due out March 18th. “Bounding Main” is an explosive and infectious tune that perfectly utilizes all the best elements of the Celtic Punk genre. Galloping out of the gates with the strong banjo, mandolin, and accordion lead, the track pulses with an energy that could wake a sleeping giant. The songwriting utilizes modern techniques that bring dynamics with a minor key halfway through the verse. Unapologetic in its rowdiness, heavy Australian accents belt the chorus with the confidence of a drunken karaoke singer on a Saturday night. Invigorated by the release of their fourth album “Hestia”, The Rumjacks quickly went back into the studio to record “Brass for Gold” EP, capitalizing off their new sense of artistry. Johnny McKelvey from the band said: “After the amazing response we had from Hestia’s release, we knew we had to back it up, do it justice and show we aren’t messing around with any of this”. “If you are passionate about what you do, you can’t sit on [Read More]

The band’s first single from the EP is a cover of Motion City Soundtracks “Together We’ll Ring In The New Year”. Speaking about the new EP the band said ‘We’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a New Years themed EP for a long time. We have a lot of good collective memories whether it be parties at Jim or Johns old apartments or playing Mercury Lounge in NYC with Hotelier and Oso Oso a few years ago. New Years Eve is one of our favourite holidays of the year and coincidentally is the subject of some of our favourite songs. We started with a long list of songs and narrowed it down to three that we felt we could interpret in our own way. We recorded these songs in our practice space at the Sound Museum in Brighton, MA with some help [Read More]

Void Of Vision release new EP this Friday

October 20, 2021

Since their burst onto the scene nearly eight years ago, Australian metal favorites Void Of Vision have used their platform as a projection of anger, apathy, darkness, and despair. Whether a faithful fan or peripheral onlooker, the band’s previous recorded, visual and live performance elements made their bleak sentiments clear for anyone to see. “CHRONICLES I: LUST” – the group’s newly announced EP due to drop this Friday – smashes this perception. On a granular level “LUST” discusses topics including mental health and music (heard on recent single “THE LONELY PEOPLE”), confronting relationship breakdowns (“GOTHIKA”), and a culture of predatory and abusive men in the music industry as discussed on today’s single “VAMPYR”. The EP’s visuals – intentionally stark, true-tone black and white – speak to the personal grappling and growth vocalist Jack Bergin experienced during its writing, symbolizing the “seeing it for what it is”, plain in black and white, reality that he encountered. Speaking more in-depth about the release of “VAMPYR”, Jack shares that it reflects on a collective process of disappointment turned [Read More]
