Shortly after the announcement of their new album and new tour dates, UK-Metalcore-legends Architects released their new single “deep fake” via Epitaph yesterday.
The song is the opener of their highly anticipated new studio record “the classic symptoms of a broken spirit”. It’s a pulsating and bombastic album with a rave-rock-intro, which peaks in a vortex of pure hard rock riffs.
After the hymn-like appetizer “when we were young”, which has reached 10 million streams so far, and the second forerunner “tear gas”, the pure power of the third pre-released song shows again, why Architects are amongst the most successful rock acts of the current decade.
“the classic symptoms of a broken spirit” will already be the 10th studio record of the band and follows last year’s highly praised UK #1-record “For Those That Wish To Exist”.
The band didn’t have much time to celebrate the success extensively, because they soon started the writing process of the new songs, which will be on the new record. It was produced at Deacon’s Middle Farm studios and their own headquarter, the Electric Studios in Brighton by drummer Dan Searle and guitarist Josh Middleton with the help of frontman Sam Carter.
The band was excited to finally be back in a room together after their latest album was mostly recorded from a distance due to the COVID restrictions. The result is overall “more liberal, playful and more spontaneous”, drummer and songwriter Dan explains.
The record is an energetic pack of electronic and industrial-sounding moments, which ascertain the cinematic mood of the 11 tracks. There’s more than one casual reference to the post-rock influences of the band, garnished with the already familiar sounding hymns like “when we were young” or “tear gas”, that are sending many a fist skyward.
“Anything is possible – wake up the unstoppable.”
Architects will present the new songs in Germany in early January 2023. Get your tickets now at https://www.architectsofficial.com/
