Jordan Smith kicks off his tour with a mesmerizing performance at The Chapel in San Francisco

May 31, 2016

It was a magical evening in San Francisco as we awaited the arrival of chart topping, record breaking artist Jordan Smith to the stage at The Chapel. It was our first time at the historic 1914 building that has been transformed into a beautiful live music venue to include full bar and restaurant in the heart of the Mission District. It was the perfect setting as the backdrop for the “best selling artist in the history of NBC’s The Voice” to entertain the crowd with his amazing vocals as he embarks on his first headlining tour. Jordan entered the stage with a full band in tow and kicked the show right off. His set was filled with both original songs and cover tracks which can be found on his debut album, Something Beautiful. The crowd cheered in high praise as he took us on a journey of musical bliss. His voice, being so powerful, carries a depth of emotion and yet can reach the highest peaks with perfection.  You couldn’t help, but be held in [Read More]

Excitement at Cowboys and Turbans Wednesday night as  David Alfaro caps an all-star Latin lineup

May 26, 2016

(Los Angeles) The excitement was so thick you could chew on it at Silver Lake’s Cowboys and Turbans club Wednesday night as Julieta Isela took the stage and welcomed the buzzing crowd to an intimate night of Latin music headlined by the rising LA-based singing star, David Alfaro.  “He is going to be right there onstage,” two young women behind me whispered, not noticing that David was sitting two tables away from them surrounded by fans and friends.   The Cuban-born actress/musician Ilza Rosario has just wrapped up a rocking set of keyboard- driven tunes, following the soft guitar and love songs of the young Brazilian artist Grecco Buratto when Isela took the microphone to introduce the night’s star.  Every chair will filled, every table crammed with drinks and cellphones, every square inch of wall supported a leaning body, and heads were craning from around the corner of the hall to catch of glimpse of Alfaro. He did not disappoint.  Although the set was shorter than the room wanted, the six songs he delivered  – [Read More]

Monica Pasqual’s Is Fortune A Wheel: a musical journey into the heart of courage.

May 26, 2016

(Los Angeles) Monica Pasqual’s new album, Is Fortune A Wheel, produced with her band The handsome Brunettes,  is a musical journey into the heart of courage.  Stunning in its power, cathartic in its depth – Is Fortune a Wheel is a musical triumph born from the ashes of grief while she watched  her partner of 17 years disappear before her eyes from degenerative brain disease. It transfixes you like no other music can.   Eleven songs take you on the voyage that she took – not only through the stages of grief in time and space – but through the stages of growth and acceptance in her own soul. As her partner’s mind, memories and very essence faded like  rising steam even as she cared for him, her musical career with the band Blame Sally and her own solo albums was skyrocketing.  Pulled apart emotionally and  logistically, she was forced to realize that she could not be all things – the caregiver, the miracle worker, the entertainer.  This album chronicles the loss she suffered, [Read More]
