We have the perfect Holiday themed song for you to get hooked on and it won’t put you to sleep. How about the infectious new track, “Don’t Be A  Jerk, on Christmas”  from new wave punk banda, Sharks In The Deep End.  Take a listen here:

Regarding the inspiration for the song, frontman Tucker Jameson says:

“‘It’s been a long, long year’ is the opening line of our song and man oh man truer words have never been spoken. With all the mixed emotions coming out of recent events, we used our sense of humor to take a moment to remind everyone, including ourselves, that Christmas and the holidays are a time to come together and appreciate the joys in life. There is a long history amongst artists who inspire us, from John Lennon and Paul McCartney to Alex Chilton and The Killers, who’ve put out Christmas songs and we are excited to follow in their footsteps by adding ours to the mix!”

I love this track and the lyrics are so spot on! Check out a couple of verses here:

Children grinnin’ ear to ear
Families all full of cheer
Though they might be on your nerves
Fight the urge to be rude

Don’t be a jerk on Christmas
Don’t be a jerk on New Year’s Eve
Don’t be a jerk or somebody could get hurt
Don’t be a jerk on Christmas

If you can’t afford that perfect gift
That don’t mean you’ve got nothin’ to give
This season is about much more than what’s shiny or new

So now you can play your new favorite holiday song for your family at your gathering. I love this track!  Make sure to visit the social media sites of Sharks In The Deep End. They have been busy supporting their debut 9-track LP  Killin’ Machine (released April 22nd via Kobalt Distribution) on several tour stints throughout the year. Killin’ Machine was mixed by GRAMMY nominated engineer Mark Needham (The Killers, Pete Yorn, Neon Trees) and produced by Dan Drohan, whose credits include Ang Low and indie darling Wilsen. The band is booked to play Austin’s Free Week 2017 in January and then enter the studio to record their next project.
