Time to take a listen and check out The Bummers with their new self titled EP

March 21, 2015

In a time when the music industry has undergone some major changes and social media limitations, it becomes harder and harder for new bands to get their name out there. Especially if a band stands out as creating their own unique sound and style, bridging together various styles of music.  Well there is one band that I would like to introduce you to as they are quite deserving of your attention! Allow me to introduce you to The Bummers. The Bummers have recently released their self titled EP and it is quite a musical gem. They have such a unique style that fuses everything from alternative, punk, rock, funk, metal and much more.  I love it that they are not set on fitting into a certain genre checkbox and are tearing down the genre boundaries. Their EP delivers driving rhythm that will have your hips moving, funky vibes travelling your veins and a smile on your face. Check out their funky track that I am hooked on, She’s Pretty When She Smokes. It features stellar songwriting, sexy [Read More]

Check out Astronauts for a dose of feel good, lift you up music!

March 20, 2015

This past week has been a hard one and I home recovering from my surgery with my makeshift desk and recliner to obtain some sort of comfort. But then again, if I treat myself to music, I always feel better and today my feel good tunes are courtesy of Astronauts out of Calgary. Their style is unique as they bring together rock, ska, reggae, funk and much more. The end product being infectiously adddictive songs that deliver a dose of mood elevator! Perfect to lift me out of my pains. Check out one of my favorite tracks from them, Breakthrough: The vocals capture you with an alternative edge and are inviting yet mysterious. Really great track. Another great track is their new song, Soul Seeker: Hopefully next week, I will be able to get back into the swing of things and bring you an interview with them soon. Deleasa releases new music video for Good People

December 16, 2014

Pop artist Deleasa has released a new music video for his song Good People as he  shakes things up while paying homage to his love of funk, pop and Motown. It is a great track that has a nostalgic seventies funk vibe that takes me back to spinning records in my garage with my older sisters. I would sit back and be their audience as the entertained me with music, giving me a good introduction to funk and soul with artists like the Commodores, Earth Wind & Fire, Spinners and so much more. Meanwhile, my older brothers would come in and take over with the Led Zeppelin and The Doors. No wonder I have such a love for all types of music!  This song from Deleasa takes me right back to that garage in the 70’s, check out the video here: ‘Deleasa released his first EP A Collection Of Sight & Sound Vol. 1 in December of 2012, showcasing his pop sensibility and love of organic musicality.
