Day 6 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know is for Switchblade Serenade

December 14, 2013

Today we are on our Day 6 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know and the honor goes to Switchblade Serenade. My son Rockin Ryan introduced me to them earlier this year. Every time he would play them, I would always about who is that band? I love them and their straight up rock n roll. As you know ’80s rock is finally making a comeback. I call it ’80s on replay style rock n roll.  Switchblade Serenade definitely are doing it right and delivering some great style ’80s rock but with an updated sound. They have the rocker look and the musical talent to back it up! Check out one of my favorite songs by them, Switchblade Susie here:   Switchblade Serenade is Austin Jaser on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Luke Barone on Drums and Vocals and Ed Mandevil on Bass and Vocals.  These three young guys bring a great big sound that you have to take notice of. They are from New Haven, CT and you can definitely feel their musical influences such as [Read More]

14 Bands that will rule 2014

Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014! 11 goes to We As Human

December 14, 2013

We are counting down the top 14 bands that we think will rule 2014. Today is our day 11 and we are pleased to present We As Human for that honor. We As Human have had quite a successful year with the release of their self titled debut album and toured extensively in 2013. This year was the first time I heard We As Human and they really became the talk of the scene and within weeks everyone was getting to know their name. We were excited to catch them at the Aftershock Festival where they started the festival off with a kick ass in your face set. They were the first band of the day and everyone was rushing to get in to check them out after they hit the stage and played the first notes of their song. The crowd loved them and many came in not knowing who We As Human were, but left Aftershock with We As Human being one of their top festival highlights.  You can read our show review [Read More]

Day 1 of 12 Days of Guitarists goes to Jeff George of Harlot

December 14, 2013

Today we are starting our 12 Days of Guitarists and we are pleased to bring you the amazingly talented Jeff George as our Day 1! Jeff George was hand picked by Sebastian Bach to be his new guitarist in September 2012. He went on to play and tour with Sebastian until earlier this year when he directed his full attention to his new band Harlot.  You can read our interview with Jeff George as he explained more about how Harlot began here. Jeff not only is a blazin shredder on the guitar but he is also a talented composer, producer and songwriter.  He has everyone in excitement as to what Harlot has in store for us. I am excited to hear Jeff‘s shredding and his fierce solos on the Harlot album. He is spectacular and it is no surprise that we will select him as our first feature on our 12 Days of Guitarists.  We had a chance to catch up Jeff about his guitars and we are pleased to share it with you here: [Read More]

The Lost Files…. Danko Jones at Uproar Festival

December 14, 2013

Well, let me tell you what a year it has been… Almost two months now our hard drive has been with our computer nerd, Al who has been trying to salvage almost 30 hours of video interviews and photos. Well today we have a breakthrough!!!! We received yesterday our recovered Danko Jones interview from the Uproar Festival in Mountain View in August earlier this year. Danko Jones put on another amazing performance during their set at Uproar Festival. They always deliver 100% pedal to the metal energy and this time there was no letting up. We had the opportunity to interview John Calabrese of Danko Jones and are pleased to share it with you here:   You can also check out a tribute video that our  Rockin Ryan put together with footage and photos from the Uproar Festival show here:   Lastly, I will leave you with Danko Jones newly released video for one of my favorite songs, “Legs” here:   Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on [Read More]

Day 5 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to Delta Rose

December 13, 2013

Today on Day 5 of our 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to the bad ass rockers who were our featured band of Warped Tour 2013…. Delta Rose! These guys truly know how to bring the old school rock and roll back to life with their young vibrant personalities that you can’t help but fall in love with.  They are also one of the hardest working bands out there. You can catch them playing shows on the Sunset Strip at The Viper Room or  House of Blues where they truly belong. If you can imagine Sunset Strip back in the ’80s and all the great rock bands during that time, well Delta Rose definitely channels those bands as they bring their energy and high spirited stage antics to life when they perform live.  You will think you took a trip back in time. We had the opportunity earlier this year to interview Delta Rose right out on the Sunset Strip before their show at The Viper Room for the Revolver Golden Gods [Read More]

Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014! #12 goes to Burn Halo

December 13, 2013

Today for our Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014, we are looking at number 12! Number 12 goes to Burn Halo!  Burn Halo  was created by James Hart (frontman of Eighteen Visions) sometime in 2007. We have had the pleasure of seeing Burn Halo about a dozen times since 2009  and they always put on an incredible show. James Hart always delivers intense energy with his vocals and Joey Roxx, their kick ass guitarist is right up front and center (well stage left to be exact!) We are excited to see Ryan Frost returned to playing rhythm guitar. Burn Halo has been busy for the last couple months putting together their final touches on their upcoming album. The most recent update came from a Twitter post by singer James Hart who states that the album has just been sent off for mastering! Check out the post here: It is awesome to hear that this new album is bringing James back to his 18 Visions roots. We heard it is definitely going to be [Read More]
