Blackwülf from Oakland deliver a heavy dose of rock at the DNA Lounge

April 6, 2014

Opening up for Swedish rockers, Truckfighters was a great heavy rock band from Oakland. Blackwülf put on an incredible set at the DNA Lounge last month. I was glad to have caught them live since I had heard about them but never had the opportunity to see them live. Blackwülf have a great heavy deep rock sound reminiscent of Tool or Alice In Chains but with more edge/blues in their guitars that I love and a grunge feel to the vocals!  They really put on an excellent show and I am looking forward to more Bay Area shows. Check out the tribute video that Rockin Ryan made with footage and photos from their San Francisco set:   You can pick up their new Limited Edition 12″ Red Vinyl of Mind Traveler as well as some cool merchandise on their website here: www.blackwulfusa.com  Also make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date if they have any shows near you. They are a band, you don’t want to miss! ~ Marisol Information & Links: Website: www.blackwulfusa.com [Read More]

An Interview with Michael Addison: luminous lyrics and a smoother side in the new album.

April 5, 2014

An Interview with Michael Addison: luminous lyrics and a smoother side in the new album. By Patrick O’Heffernan Actor, singer, songwriter Michael Addison will release a new album, Resisting Fate, April 15 and a new single, “We’ll Be Coming Home”,  April 8 as part of a major shift to music.  Music FridayLive! host Patrick O’Heffernan interviewed him on air April 4, 2014. Listening to Michael Addison’s soon to be released album,  Resisting Fate,  is like laying in the grass on a summer day and watching the clouds slide by while you think of childhood and ice cream and former lovers.  And  then, there is lightening. The guitar wails, the tempo accelerates and you are hooked. Alt rocker Addison shows us a deep, melodious side that merges euphoria, melancholy and electricity in a harmonious stream that sometimes floats you gently and sometimes carries you over emotional rapids.  But in the end, when the music fades and leaves on the shore of your consciousness, your first inclination is to get back in the boat, hit replay on [Read More]

My Fictions to release debut full length album on July 1st

April 4, 2014

My Fictions is set to release their debut full length album Stranger Songs on July 1st via Top Shelf Records. The album was self recorded and mixed by the band and Will Killingsworth (Orchid) at Dead Air Studios mastered it.  The album has been said to be a ten track album that takes the listener down the darkened path. The songs were reported to have been written at an emotional low and is fueled with a mix of anger and sadness. We can’t wait to hear what the new album brings since it promises raw intensity and I am sure as before the emotion will bleed through the songs and capture the listener. “Stranger Songs” is the follow up to the band’s acclaimed 2013 split with label mates The Saddest Landscape, which included a 13+ minute long track that was written collectively by both bands. We will keep you updated but also make sure to visit My Fictions  social media sites. If you get a chance to catch them live, you should do everything to make it! They have [Read More]
