(hed) P.E. came in to San Francisco at the DNA Lounge for a nonstop mosh

May 19, 2014

On Friday, we went to cover the Born To Ride 2 Tour with SOiL and (hed) P.E. .SOiL put on an amazing solid set and you can read about that here. Then it was time for  (hed) P.E. and I was excited since was the first time for me to see them in their 20 year band history!  Yes, it is hard for me to even believe that I never had the chance to catch them live until now. Especially since after watching them, I was just calculating how many times I could have seen them before. They are really one of the most energetic bands out there today. If you asked five different people what type of music  (hed) P.E. is, you just might end up with five very different answers. There is something so special about this band because making the music they want to hear and making what feels right is exactly what they do. They do not try and re-invent themselves or make carbon copy sound alike albums. Their creativity shines through each of their varied styles [Read More]

May 19, 2014

Tim Bownessis set to release his forthcoming second solo album ‘Abandoned Dancehall Dreams’ on the 23rd June 2014 in Europe and 8th July 2014 in US, and the first taste of music is finally here. Featuring a powerhouse drumming performance from King Crimson’s Pat Mastelotto, a string arrangement from Classical composer Andrew Keeling and a stunning guitar solo courtesy of Michael Bearpark, The Warm-Up Man Forever is the lead-off track from Tim Bowness’s ambitious Inside Out Music debut and you can check it out here:   Tim says: “The Warm-Up Man Forever started out as a demo I’d written for No-Man. With the benefit of three decades of technology and life experience, it was a song that contained aspects of the music that inspired me when I first started playing in bands (in that far off universe, the early 1980s!). Although I hope I did something fresh and different with the source inspirations, I had things like Peter Gabriel’s 3, Kate Bush’s Hounds Of Love, The Icicle Works and The Michael Nyman Band in mind when I [Read More]

SOiL stopped in at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco for the Born To Ride 2 Tour!

May 19, 2014

Just this past weekend, we had the opportunity to catch SOiL as they made their stop in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge for the Born To Ride 2 Tour with (hed) p.e. One thing is for sure when SOiL performs, the energy is intense and you feel charged and ready to go.  This night was no different as SOiL came out in full force and ready to take control. There was non stop energy and the crowd was equally fired up. Their set was awesome and I had wished it went on for another hour!! One of the highlights was when vocalist Ryan McCombs came off the stage and into the audience to sing “Halo”. The crowd loved it and you can see that Ryan loved it just as much. It was definitely a night to remember for them. They also played my favorite song from their new album WHOLE, The Hate Song. I applaud SOiL in how they can achieve studio quality sound in a small venue like DNA Lounge. They were spot on [Read More]
