Cold Blood Club brings the party from New York to LA By Patrick O’Heffernan

June 18, 2014

The Brooklyn alt. dance-rock  band Cold  Blood Club brought their infectious upbeat beats to Hollywood last night at the literary-themed Hemmingway’s, rattling the books off the shelves and turning the nightclub’s library setting into a flashing, smoking dance hall.  And it was soooo much fun. If this is what bands  do in Brooklyn, we need to import a few here permanently. Before the band took the stage at 9:15 pm Tuesday night, they installed lasers, reflection screens, projectors and even a smoke machine to give the room the proper atmosphere for going crazy.  And crazy we went.  With seven songs, they gave the moving and bouncing audience at Hemmingway’s plenty to chew on and dance to. They treated us to pure high octane, intelligent dance-fun music that gets your body moving and makes you listen to the words. Cold Blood Club founder and band leader Tom Stuart was joined by six of the seven members of the band, all looking rested from their gig the previous night at The Mint, and a little beach [Read More]

Check out the remix of Zander Bleck Dirty Love Song by award winning remixers, Chomstars

June 18, 2014

With the fast rise or should I say comeback of EDM it is great to see the creative remixes that have been made. In the 90’s I spent many weekends in the nightclubs in San Francisco enjoying electronic dance music, just back then we called it ’90s!  Today, with the advances in music technology the remixers have set the bar higher and bring a whole new life to the music genre.   Award winning remix trio of Chomstars have taken their fresh Electro House stylings to dismantle and rebuild the Zander Bleck pop hit “Dirty Love Song”. Check it out here: For this remix we really wanted the instrumentation and arrangement to bolster the emotional impact of Zander’s powerful pop vocal. It’s more on the purely electro side than our upcoming Stargazing EP, but with some futuristic and creative twists.  – Chomstars The dynamic trio are also gearing up for the release of their “Stargazing” EP, a melodic, four track dance-floor destroyer featuring pulsating basslines and explosive drops, out 6/23/2014 on Audiophile Live. Check out Chomstars “Stargazing” Minimix here: Stay tuned for the release [Read More]

The Rare release amazing new single, All Dressed Up To Die

June 18, 2014

The Rare from Southern California are a hard rock that knows how to bring their music to life with heartfelt lyrics and passion through their sound. They have just released their new single, All Dressed Up To Die and it is an amazing new track. This song truly hit home for me. Check out a lyric video here and I will tell you more:   I love their style and really am looking forward to more new music. All Dressed Up To Die will be on their upcoming EP. It is has emotionally driven lyrics that just took me right back to August 2011 as I spent 15 days by father’s side. Watching someone you love suffer and know that their life is soon coming to an end, is one of the most painful experiences but it also for me was the most special. My father was my best friend and we were so close, during the day when my other siblings would come to visit, he never spoke a work. At nighttime, I would stay [Read More]

Check out our interview with indie pop rockers, Crocodile

June 18, 2014

I wanted to let you know about a great little EP that will be released this week. The band is Crocodile from Austin, Texas and they are bringing a fresh new take on the classic sound of The Beatles yet not dated as such. They are indie pop rock swaddled in a 60’s vibe that bring the right balance between melody and fuzz that is inviting and quite addictive.  Their new EP Crocodile Vs. The Mutant Alligators From Space will have you thinking you are listening to a lost reel from The Beatles. They have successfully capture the innocence of music and wrapped it in a style that will have you captive from first listen.  Gianni talks about the EP recording process, “[It] is very personal for me. A lot of trial and error, I very rarely know exactly where a song is going. I like to look at it as the songs shaping themselves and me being just a medium.” As for the future? “I’ve been recording a lot of songs on my own that I’m compiling [Read More]
