Our Tuesdays Travels Band is Cocaine Cowboys from PERU and they are going to ROCK YOUR WORLD!

July 29, 2014

We return with our Tuesdays Travels where we highlight a band from another country. Tonight we travel all the way to South America to a town where I visited back in 1983 with my parents; Lima, Peru. I am sure when people think of Peru, they think of Machu Picchu or the great food (particularly my famous Causa or Papa a la Huancaina), and not ROCK n ROLL. But Peru has a great history rich in culture/music and if you haven’t read it yet, check out my article, Punk Rock Originated in Peru with Los Saicos in 1964.  Yes, I am proud to say that I am 100% Peruvian so this is quite an honor to find a band that I completely ROCKS and is from the hometown of my parents. I am talking about the bad ass rockers, Cocaine Cowboys. Cocaine Cowboys is a hard rock band from Lima, Peru that bring to life my love for straight up ROCK n ROLL. They have fierce guitars, gritty powerful vocals and a style that screams [Read More]

Adelita’s Way new album STUCK is out now, crank it up loud and enjoy!

July 29, 2014

Today, Adelita’s Way release their new album Stuck on Virgin Records. This album is the much anticipated follow up to their 2011 release of Home School Valedictorian. Stuck was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Evanescence). I have been excited for this release because it isn’t often that I have been able to really watch a band grow since first listening to them in 2009 as they were putting together the final touches on their debut self titled album. I knew back then that this would be one band to watch out for and knew we would be hearing a lot from them. The vocals of Rick DeJesus are powerful and commanding and can bring to life the emotionally driven lyrics with conviction and a large presence. The first single off the album, Dog on a Leash came out and once again garnered a lot of attention as it climbed the Active Rock charts. These days hard rock tends to have the genre lines blurred and a spilling over from metal or hardcore which is [Read More]

Corey Taylor treats fans to an eclectic acoustic set at That Metal Show Concert

July 29, 2014

We have been telling you about all the great sets at the first ever That Metal Show concert which was held at Thunder Valley Resort in Lincoln, CA last Friday. It was great seeing the hosts of VH1’s That Metal Show as they introduced all the great bands. Make sure to check out our coverage of Living Colour and  Anthrax too.  But now, let us tell you about the great eclectic set that Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) delivered. Corey played a little bit of everything during his acoustic set. First, I have to tell you about the blazing heat as it was well over 100 degrees and I can only imagine how hot it was on that stage. I have to give a big kudos to all the great bands as they put on spectacular performances. Corey was there in the heat and he gave his 125% as always treating the crowd to his captivating vocals. He played some Stone Sour, cover songs, even a Slipknot song! Check out the photos of Corey from his set at [Read More]
