Check out the new video for Apocalypse by alternative rockers, Sleeperstar

August 15, 2014

Hailing from Dallas, Texas is the melodic rock band Sleeperstar, bringing a blend of alternative and melodic rock to perfect levels to suit your music needs. Sleeperstar demonstrate that with hard work and determination, their music will shine through and bring to life the passion in their songs. They have recently released a great music video directed by Jordan Laessig for their song, Apocalypse. Check it out here:  The song has a sweet cinematic intro that guides into the alternative melodic rock track, straight with fuzzy guitars and emotionally driven lyrics. It really has a catchy melody that is a welcome spin on the usual dark apocalyptic tale. It is well produced track with engaging vocals that has definitely caught my attention. The song has just been released as a single and is available here on iTunes. The song will also be available on their second full length album, Lost Machines which is scheduled for an October 15th release. The album was recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Dustin Burnett.  Sleeperstar is: Nick Box Chris Pearson Shaun [Read More]

Butcher Knives are bringing to life multi-cultured and multi-dimensional gypsybilly music!

August 15, 2014

Butcher Knives boasts members from four different countries, speak five languages and along with their passports and work visas in hand, they are here to bring a fresh new style of music to the forefront; gypsybilly. Their band is rich in culture which transfers through to their music and with their varying styles, they bring such dimension to their sound. It is like a melting pot of punk, blues, flamenco, rockabilly, bluegrass, folk and so much more. Take a listen to their song, Misery which is not only catchy but you will find yourself returning to play it again after.   The song reminds me of a blend of Squirrel Nut Zippers meets Barenaked Ladies but fueled with the individuality that is Butcher Knives. Need more Butcher Knives? How about checking out the cinematic video for their song Tell Me Why: They really capture a freshness with their sound and in a time where a lot of music tends to blend into genres and start sounding too familiar, along comes a band as unique as [Read More]

While this band is highly recognized in their own country for captivating audiences with their live performances, they are now getting the well deserved attention across the globe. Their style of Alternative Rock cannot be categorized with a simple check box next to a genre, since they have successfully blended the catchy melodies, acoustic vibes, emotionally driven lyrics, amid their signature Australian rock sound into well crafted songs. The vocals of Mark Cashin are absolutely captiving and remind me of a blend of Peter Gabriel and Dave Matthews but yet Mark has his own unique and powerful style. August 14, 2014

In case you missed our coverage of Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators surprise show at The Fillmore, you can read it here. How about some more SLASH news? Well, SLASH has composed an original score for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights Maze. It is Clowns 3D Music by SLASH. Check out a video in which SLASH discusses the collaboration with the theme park and the hypnotizing 3D maze: The psychedelic 3D maze will horrify guests, taunting and tempting them with terror and treats as they parade through “Sweet Licks Frozen Clown Pops Family Amusement Center,” a dilapidated roadside attraction and one-time thriving ice cream factory run by deranged siblings and their mad clown father, Sweet Licks. As this demented trio schemes to restore the family business by luring visitors with free ice cream, guests will soon find themselves on the menu as the key ingredient of a sick new high-protein ice cream concoction. “I’m a HUGE fan of ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ and was inspired to partner with Universal Studios Hollywood because they are the founders of [Read More]

Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators make sure to LET ROCK RULE in San Francisco!

August 14, 2014

Yesterday we received word that the Aerosmith/SLASH concert at Concord Pavilion was cancelled due to illness of drummer Joey Kramer. No more than a couple hours after, we received word that SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators have confirmed a show for the same night at The Fillmore San Francisco.  Slash made sure to LET ROCK RULE as they quickly put together a show that would takeover San Francisco! The line circled around the block as die hard fans were glad to be there for the just announced concert. It was amazing to imagine that the concert was only five hours in the planning and it went off without a hitch. The crowd included many fans who were supposed to be at the Concord show and raced over once they heard the official announcement as well as fans who were not able to afford the Concord show or get good tickets. They were then treated to a night full of stellar rock n roll that included a set that lasted well over 2 hours. [Read More]
