Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators album is out now!

September 16, 2014

The new album World On Fire from Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators is out now! This is one album that I was waiting for and it definitely exceeded all my expectations. The album features a complete 17 songs that do not disappoint, each one ready to rock your world. You can’t help but rock out to the signature crunchy riffs of Slash, the most powerful vocals of Myles and songs that will take you on a rockin ride. The album truly has a more cohesive band element and not a feature alone of Slash. It is truly a full body of work that will capture your attention from start to finish. The first single World On Fire garnered a lot of great attention since it’s first release, and the rest of the album followed suit and did not falter in any way. Some of my faves so far are 30 Years to Life, Stone Blind, Dirty Girl, Too Far Gone, and Avalon. It is also so hard to choose because it is such a complete [Read More]

Gary Cherone and his project Hurtsmile premiere new song Rock N’ Roll Cliche

September 16, 2014

It is time to get excited because new music from Gary Cherone (Extreme, Van Halen) and his project Hurtsmile which is a collaboration with his brother/guitarist Mark Cherone has arrived! These amazingly talented brothers along with Joe Pessia (bass, mandolin) and Dana Spellman (drums, percussion) are set to release RETROGRENADE on October 7th through Cherone’s own record label, Slipkid Records. The album which was completely fan funded will have Cherone pay homage to almost every genre that he has excelled in. Of RETROGRENADE, Gary Cherone commented, “The strength of this record is that all the members of the band contributed to the songwriting process which resulted in a wonderfully creative diversity.  This second effort has been a natural progression and we’ve yet to repeat ourselves musically.” They are premiering their new song, Rock N’ Roll Cliche which is a bad ass new track featuring Gary’s soaring vocals. Check it out by heading here. Hurtsmile will play a special performance at the official RETROGENADE record release party in their hometown of Boston, MA at the MIXX [Read More]

Witzend Celebration of founder rocks and refreshes legendary venue.

September 16, 2014

By  Patrick O’Heffernan, Music FridayLive!   Venice, CA. Apparently rumors of the demise of LA’s famed Witzend music venue are, as the saying goes, greatly exaggerated.  In fact, the memorial of the death of the legendary club’s founder, Jeb Milne, held Thursday night was a strong signal that not only are the rumors that it could become a high end restaurant not true, but that the new owners are bringing fresh life to the storied site, starting with a blowout party populated with unrivaled talent. The Witzend was created by Jeb Milne in 2009 in a collection of buildings in Venice CA that had once housed the famous (or infamous) Mad Dog Restaurant and Bar frequented by Jim Morrison, Gregory Hines and other rising entertainment stars.  Jeb, a multi-talented Renaissance man, musician and animator, originally bought the buildings for a animation studio.  After 2 years of negotiations with the City, he got a permit to open the Wtizend music venue and the West Side  has never been the same. The Witzend became the center of [Read More]

Take a listen to the new single Hey LA by new rockers, Taped3ck

September 15, 2014

Taped3ck is a new trio of rockers from LA that is composed of three talented solo artists who have combined forces to bring some fresh new rock n roll to the scene.  I am not going to do them the injustice of trying to peg them with a musical genre, category, sub-genre which has become so overly abused these days. I am going to simply state, these guys are ready to rock and are definitely worthy of your attention. Taped3ck is Kemble Walters – Vocals & Drums Lillard Anthony – Vocals & Guitar Al Walters – Vocals & Bass Check out their new song Hey LA:  Taped3ck is derived from years of friendship, fun and jamming together in front-man Lillard Anthony’s Los Angeles home studio.   Lillard and bassist Al Walters grew up together in music and have been performing together for years. We look forward to hearing from this new band. The new single is set to release on September 30th on digital outlets.Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to [Read More]

Killed the Fixtion release powerful new song, Mother

September 15, 2014

Last year I told you the story of how I found the great heavy metal/rock band Killed the Fixtion. I told you about “Music was their outlet and they have delivered a sound that just really invokes bad ass metal. It is almost like Pantera sprinkled with some Sevendust and Stevie Ray Vaughn all at the same time! You will love them, I know I am getting hooked.” You can read more from that original post here. Killed the Fixtion have recently released a new song, Mother that is truly powerful and has a great message of hope and faith. In a time when it is hard to find people who care about the troubles of the world, it is rewarding to hear that we are not alone and have faith. We care about the state of the world today and this song truly captures that message. I absolutely love the raw emotion and thought provoking lyrics. So, take a couple minutes to check it out and share it with your friends. Maybe we can all [Read More]
