He then went on to play with other bands and has since created a new music project, which is newly named Scream Darling. Check out our interview with Justyn and his guitarist Dave at NAMM: He is still putting together all his social media sites so stay tuned as we will bring you more updates. Check out the new video from Nemes for Everest Isle

February 23, 2015

Time to check out the new video from Nemes for their song, Everest Isle. The video is just as fun as the new song is from this New England indie folk rock band. The infectiously catchy new song captures emotion as well as creating an uplifting vibe. If you ever needed a song to bring you a nudge of determination and a burst of hope, this is that song. I love it. Check out Everest Isle here: The song is the third off their debut full length album, I Carry Your Heart. Regarding the song/video, the band states, “‘Everest Isle’ is the culmination of years spent honing a close co-writing style that began in high school for our singers Dave Anthony and Josh Knowles. Our goal with the sound of the song was to output the energy that we bring to our live show while simultaneously creating an intimate connection with the listener. This is without a doubt one of our favorite songs to play live and we can’t wait to hit the road with it.” Nemes will be touring throughout 2015 so [Read More]

Prepare to be blown away by The Glorious Sons on their current tour

February 23, 2015

With my schedule of concert and festival coverage I probably get in about 250 sets a year and sometimes I come across a band that I know will have me thinking about their performance long after. Most recently, I had the experience when I caught The Glorious Sons from Ontario, Canada as they made a stop in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. They put on an incredible set that had me grinning from ear to ear as I watched a band for the first time and knew that it will definitely not be my last. They are currently on tour with 10 Years for the From Birth To Burial Tour which also includes Otherwise and Luminoth. We had the chance to chat with the band shortly before their set, check out the interview here: We featured The Glorious Sons just a couple weeks ago as one of our Bands of The Day because their infectious rock sound captured our attention from the first listen. Of course, seeing them perform live completely blew us away. [Read More]

Band of the Day

I Prevail is our Band of the Day

February 23, 2015

Today’s Band of the Day goes to the fast rising post hardcore band I Prevail from Detroit. They have been garnering a lot of attention spanning the genres for their incredible cover of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space.  From the first time I heard it, I was blown away with how they completely did an amazing job at taking the pop song and making it their own. When asked why the band chose to cover “Blank Space,” drummer Lee  shares “I enjoy her music.  She is one of the most successful artists of our generation.  We hoped to reach a lot of people with our style of music together with her popularity.”  Lead guitarist Steve adds, “I think the success of our cover shows that a great song is a great song, no matter the genre or style.  We wanted to cover a song that had mass appeal and could reach beyond the rock, metal and hardcore world.  Beyond that, we honestly all like Taylor Swift.  You can call it a guilty pleasure, but she’s damn [Read More]

Concert Review Architects, Bless The Fall, Every Time I Die and Counterparts in Munich by Alexandra

February 23, 2015

Concert Review by Alexandra Counterparts / Bless The Fall / Every Time I Die / Architects Munich, Backstage, February 20th, 2015   Finally a show in one of my favorite venues in Munich. Nice people working there, enough parking space and an awesome club. There’s the floor in front of the stage and to the left and right of it is an area that’s at stage-level with stairs down to the floor area, so you can stand there and watch it from a higher viewpoint or you can go down to the pit and do whatever you feel to do, which was a lot of moshing and crowd surfing that night.   I think it was either sold out or very close to, because the venue was really packed. All four bands played an energetic and powerful set. Every band has been in the scene for quite a while. They’ve all toured Germany before and were known to at least parts of the audience. As Sam Green, the vocalist of the Architects mentioned, this was [Read More]
