We are only days way from the release of the self titled debut album from Station. These bad ass rockers are set to release their album on April 14th. SIXX: A.M. deliver an unforgettable and sensational opening night for the Modern Vintage Tour in San Francisco!

Sixx: A.M. kicked off their Modern Vintage Tour last night in San Francisco at The Regency Ballroom. It was an exceptional opening night that left everyone in a blissful fog. The night began with an energetic set by the Japanese rockers, VAMPS. They tore up the stage with their energy and instantly won over the crowd. A highlight was when they played a cover of Motley Crue’s Live Wire. I am truly looking forward to checking them out more and hopefully see them return to play the Bay Area soon. Next up was the dynamic and awe-inspiring performance by Apocalyptica. These guys delivered a mind-blowing set of their instrumental, rock/metal music featuring cellos. You can’t help but watch them in amazement as they bring a whole new level to classical music by taking it up to 11 and bringing out the metal. Alternative/electronica rock band ReAktion from Chile release new lyric video

Allow me to introduce you to the fresh new sound of ReAktion, an alternative/electronica rock band from Santiago, Chile. I remember upon my visit to Santiago many years ago, they have such a great feel for highlighting their strengths and uniqueness. That is exactly what you get when you check out ReAktion. While some bands are “playing it safe” or creating another “cookie cutter sound”, ReAktion is delivering what will soon become their signature sound, a fusion of elements from alternative, rock and electronic. The Bay Area is getting ready for SIXX A.M. to kick off their headline tour, “Modern Vintage Tour” TONIGHT at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.   Today’s Band of the Day goes to an absolutely amazing young band. Don’t let their young years fool you. These guys have so much passion and dedication to their music well beyond their years. What is also quite impressive is that their music creates such a strong connection to the listener as it takes them on a musical journey of emotions. With their song, Carry On which was written in December 2013 and dealt with the issue of bullying. With the song, fans and listeners found the song to be that voice inside telling them, they can can Carry On. It became inspiration, strength and power to many. I applaud greatly musicians who can not only make kick ass rock n roll but at the same time, bring out such a positive message. Galvanized Souls are from Southern California and their sound is a blend of fierce alternative with a pinch of grunge and straight up rock n roll. Interview with Doe Paoro on LA, her music, a new album and what she hears when she meditates. By Patrick O’Heffernan

  I met Doe Paoro recently at a SofarLA concert in Culver City.  The room was so crowded that  I stood literally right next to her as she sang –any closer and I would have been dodging her elbows.  Turns out that was a great place to be because I got the full range of her impressive voice and clearly heard every word of her magical lyrics.  As a songwriter and vocalist, Doe Paoro moves easily across genres and creates new ones on the fly. Her 2012 debut album Slow to Love was influenced by her study of Tibetan folk opera.  Her follow up album, After, as she puts it, “built an entire world with the sonics alone.”  Her videos, “Walking Backward” and “Born Whole” are visual enchantment.
